A lot of ink has been spilled about the mysterious text message that Prince William sent to his brother, Prince Harry, after the bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview.
One of the scenes from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s Netflix series that have millions of fans and naysayers baffled was shot 24 hours after the pair sat down for the most significant interview of the decade.
The power couple was in the home office of their California mansion, reading the reviews of the major TV event.
They were going through some of the heartfelt messages of support they received from friends like Beyoncé and Tyler Perry when Prince Harry went silent while looking at his phone.
Prince Harry carefully read the text message and told Markle it was from Prince William. He showed it to his wife but ensured it was not visible on screen.
Markle, a woman of a million words, was almost speechless. However, she did at some point look at the camera and explained: “Wow, H just got a text from his brother!”
The Duke of Sussex once more read the text and made a few grimaces before saying: “I wish I knew what to do.”
Markle, who understood that Prince William’s words deeply impacted her husband, stood up, took her husband by the waist, and told him: “I know. Let’s take a breather. Get some air and then decide.”
As the cameras rolled, Prince Harry and Markle could be seen standing in the garden and sharing a hug in silence.
Judi James, a leading communication and body language expert, watched the surprising scene and revealed that Prince William knew the “right words to use to get a rise or response” from Prince Harry.
James also claimed that the message triggered Prince Harry’s need for his mother’s comfort, which is why Markle stepped in.
She revealed: “Harry seems to seek to trigger the maternal, nurturing response from his wife here, holding the phone out to her like a kid might hold out a small injury to its mother for inspection and comfort.”
James also claimed that Prince William’s message must have been strong or heavy-worded to get some reaction.
She shared: “It would appear there would be something on that screen that is strong enough for her to react to instantly. Most people receiving a difficult text would read it out, scrolling down. What had William written that would leap off the screen so comprehensively from a distance?”
James concluded by saying Prince William, who was once very close with Prince Harry, knew exactly which buttons to press to deliberately make him react angrily.
She stated: “Siblings that have been as close as Harry and William once were will always know the right words to use to get a rise or response from each other, and whatever William wrote does seem to have connected emotionally with Harry. It’s not an angry response, though. It suggests confusion and sadness, tinged with possible frustration. Meghan’s response is like a mother to an unhappy child, placing her arms around Harry’s waist and rocking him.”
The two brothers are not any closer to making peace.
