R. Kelly Uses Coronavirus To Ask Judge For Release From Jail To Be With Girlfriend Joycelyn Savage — Critics Frown

R. Kelly might be facing some trouble due to the current global situation with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and he may have been prevented from meeting with his attorneys.

The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer has reportedly attempted to organize a meeting with his legal representatives about a few weeks ago, but everyone in the party was blocked from getting to him by prison officials.

Staff claimed that they could not let anyone through due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and advised the legal crew to stay back. The team eventually gave up and left the scene.

There are various reports regarding the intended nature of the meeting, with some sources claiming that Kelly was planning to discuss more advanced strategies with his teams, leading to some controversial speculation that he might have been blocked from meeting them on purpose.

However, the restrictions seem to apply to pretty much everyone right now, so it does not appear like Kelly is being discriminated against in any way.

In addition, prison representatives have commented on the situation, stating that they fully believe in prisoners’ rights to meet with their attorneys and discuss important matters, and there was action behind the scenes to make changes in this regard.

However, progress is apparently slow, and it might take a while before Kelly — and others — get to see their legal representatives.

No time estimates have been given by prison officials at this point, and it is hard to make any predictions due to the current state of the global situation.

Kelly, who can still call his lawyers from jail, is also using the pandemic to his advantage — he wants to be put on house arrest and share an apartment with his girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage.

Kelly claims life at Chicago MCC is even more complicated and dangerous with the coronavirus. However, Savage’s apartment is located close to a mall frequented by teenagers and with the sexual abuse cases involving minors, the judge might not be inclined to give the Chicago crooner what he is asking for

Online commenters are not very kind to the controversial R&B legend. One of them stated: “No he’s a threat to minors! We already gotta deal with Rona. Keep him, Tekasnitch & Bill Cosby in there tf.”

This observer chimed in: “He’s in jail because he couldn’t “distance” himself… mr bump n grind needs to stay right where he is.”

A third comment read: “Robert, I’m sure you’ve caught diseases much worse than Corona in your lifetime… Have A Seat.”

Prosecutors previously called Kelly a danger to society.
