The first daughter of the United States, Ivanka Trump, may be facing heavy backlash after it became known that she was not keeping up with her own guidelines for social distancing.
Reportedly, President Donald Trump‘s oldest daughter, who currently holds the position of senior White House adviser, spent the recent Jewish holiday, Passover, with her husband, Jared Kushner, at the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey, instead of staying at their home in Washington.
The high-profile couple and their three children decided to mark the holiday with a trip to the golf club in New Jersey, despite Trump’s own previous plea and urge for people to stay at their homes as much as possible.
On March 30, Ivanka took to social media to share a video clip, in which she begged her followers to self-isolate because “social distancing saves lives.”
In addition to stressing the importance of remaining indoors, the 38-year-old senior adviser also stated: “Each and every one of us plays a role in slowing the spread.”
For the time being, it remains unknown how and when Trump made her trip from Washington to New Jersey, but the last time she appeared at the White House was on April 7, and since then, she worked remotely.
Meanwhile, Ivanka’s spouse allegedly went back to Washington, where he was seen on April 14. Kushner, who is also a senior White House adviser, allegedly has been managing a shadow task force, which is dedicated to helping the White House administration with the distribution of medical provisions for various hospitals in Washington.
Kushner took part in a rare interview on Sunday, where he praised Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic that has infected 1,010,277 Americans and killed 56,634 others thus far.
The White House senior adviser said on Fox News: “We’re ‘working to make sure we’re never reliant on foreign supplies again.”
He added: “I think the campaign platform that President Trump ran on in 2016, which was basically ‘you have to secure your borders, and you have to control your own manufacturing as a national security issue.’ I think those have been totally vindicated positions from the virus, and I doubt it will be easy for people to argue against them in the future.”
The president’s poll numbers have gone down since he started holding daily White House briefings about COVID-19.
