Kate Middleton is very busy even though she has been in lockdown with the rest of the royal family, but not everyone is happy about the activities that she has been taking part in Anmer Hall.
Recently, a video surfaced showing Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, having a conversation with Clouds House personnel from Anmer Hall.
The mother of three, dressed in a red shirt, spoke elegantly with several staff and clients of Clouds House via a video conference call as part of Addiction Awareness Week.
During the chitchat, the wife of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, urged those struggling with addiction to continue to get the help that they need because she is aware that healing can be such a continuous and up-and-down process, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Duchess of Cambridge said: “The worrying thing is, it is all those people who aren’t necessarily reaching out who are struggling, who perhaps don’t feel they can reach out.”
She went on to say: “Or the fact that maybe they haven’t realized that addictive behaviors have sort of established, particularly if it’s the first time and it’s those people who aren’t necessarily being vocal about it.
It’s making sure that they know they can reach out and that you are there to help and support them in this very difficult time.”
Action on Addiction’s CEO Graham Beech issued a statement praising Kate for her gesture and for fighting to break down the stigma about addiction.
Beech shared: “Addiction is often not recognized as an illness. It carries a stigma – that somehow individuals are to blame for the situation in which they find themselves,” he said, adding that Kate “has supported us in improving understanding of this life-stopping condition, and her timely digital visit to Clouds House, our residential treatment center in Wiltshire in response to this issue will do much to remove that stigma. It will also hopefully raise awareness of how to access support, treatment, and specialist help so that more people can move on from addiction and lives can be saved.”
However, many people took to social media to say that Kate appeared out of touch while sitting in Anmer Hall in Norfolk, a multimillion Georgian country house that Queen Elizabeth II gifted her and her spouse.
Others said it was another Royal Family PR stunt to clean up their image after the Prince Andrew drama involving Jeffrey Epstein and Megxit.
