Recently, Rihanna sent her fans into a frenzy after the audio of an old interview resurfaced.
Rihanna is sitting down with Oprah Winfrey, and she is having a conversation about her relationship with Chris Brown.
The diva and makeup mogul left many speechless as she confessed that she still loved Chris and claimed that they had a “very, very close friendship.”
Many were upset and baffled by the comments that Rihanna made because of the incident that took place in 2009.
In early 2009, an altercation took place between the then-couple while on a California highway. Chris assaulted Rihanna and left her face badly bloodied and bruised up.
The singer went through a lengthy court battle, and he was put on a five-year probation and had to perform six months of community labor for beating Rihanna.
She said in part during the 2012 interview: “I truly love him. The main thing for me is that he is at peace. I’m not at peace if he’s a little unhappy or he’s still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds that peace.”
The interview made headlines again because Oprah decided to upload it on her Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations.
According to reports, Chris was blindsided by the podcast but has decided not to contact Rihanna.
The source shared: “Chris wasn’t aware that the podcast was released again, but he has no plans of reaching out to Rihanna about it regardless. He’s focused on his own thing and attempting to move on. He is also sure she’s doing her own thing and wouldn’t want to bother her.”
The insider then revealed that the former lovebirds do not interact with each other and added: “Their paths haven’t really crossed as of late. He has become a father and has had many relationships since the interview and since they have dated. And people have to know that what happened between them was in 2009. Chris has changed. He’s happy that they’ve both achieved the level of success in their lives that they have both professionally and personally and that they can be friends. He always wishes her the best in life and there’s really nothing more to it. He can’t imagine that they will ever be together romantically again. It would be too much for both of them, and he is OK with that being the case.”
The person went on to explain that there is no chance in hell they would ever get back together.
It was revealed: “The chance of them rekindling the love they had would be as close to impossible as things could be. They were once in a relationship that was all or nothing, and it ended. They won’t dive into something like that again with each other. They know that it wouldn’t be healthy for all the progress they have made. They have proven that they can move on; they just hope others can do the same.”
One thing is certain, Oprah got a lot of attention with her move.
