Diva and businesswoman Kelly Rowland has a lovely baby surprise. Rowland delighted fans this week by revealing her sweet secret to the world — she is pregnant with her second child.

Beyoncé‘s BFF posed for a series of stunning photos of her baby bump via Women’s Health. Rowland, who is already in her third trimester, revealed that her due date is later this year but declined to share the gender of the baby.

The Destiny’s Child band member, who is already mom to Titan Jewell, said that she and her husband, Tim Weatherspoon, had been thinking about growing their family for a long time, but after the pandemic put the world on pause, they decided to get the job done.

The 39-year-old entertainer confessed: “We had been talking about it loosely, and then COVID happened, and we were just like, ‘Let’s see what happens.'”

She also revealed that she was fortunate enough to get pregnant right away. Rowland explained why she was hesitant about sharing her joyful news in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic and social unrest.

She also preemptively took on those who would criticize her for having a baby at almost 40. Rowland stated: “But you still want to remind people that life is important. And being able to have a child… I’m knocking at 40’s door in February. Taking care of myself means a lot to me.”

She added: “I’m gonna look like a real dinosaur, with this belly in the middle.”

Tina Knowles-Lawson said she is happy to have another grandbaby, and Vanessa Bryant wished Rowland the best. There were some mom-shaming and ageist comments, but many women stepped in to defend Rowland.

A defender of the actress took on the naysayers by writing: “Somebody asked, “isn’t she too old!?” Really?? Everybody not out here having babies at 12 & 13 years old! Who raised you heifers?”

Another female social media user shared the following comment: “Women have healthy babies after 35 all the time.
Maybe you don’t understand what high risk means… It doesn’t mean women in those age groups can’t have babies, or something will always go wrong. It means they’re MORE at risk.”

This person mentioned Halle Berry: “I worked in an ob-gyn office, and they were popping them out all over the place at 35 and up. Women can have babies in their 40s; Halle did that. A lot of these young girls aspire to be mothers at 16-21 nowadays? For some reason, and they think raising a child is easy, smh.”

Note that Janet Jackson also had her baby boy late in life, at 50.
