Justin Bieber might not have been ready for it, but Ellen DeGeneres brought on her A game of awkwardness.
The Canadian crooner sat down for a chit chat with the comedian recently, where things got very personal, fairly quickly.
Justin stepped on the Christmas-themed set, and Ellen put the star on the spot by asking him to tell the truth about his wife’s massive Thanksgiving turkey.
Model Hailey Bieber shared a photo on Instagram, where she happily showed off the giant bird that she had prepared for the holiday.
Hailey said that she was happy to cook her first holiday meal for family and friends. Ellen opened her line of questioning by asking Justin, did his wife, Hailey, really cook their Thanksgiving turkey?
Justin appeared a bit uncomfortable as he explained that she did and added: “Our friends brought dishes as well, and I have a chef too, which I’m really blessed about, to have.”
Ellen then asked: “So did Hailey cook that turkey? Or did your chef cook it, and she posed with it?” The crooner tried to turn it into a joke and responded by: “Uh, no, Hailey actually did cook that, yeah, yeah, yeah.”
When the TV host was done with the turkey grilling session, she moved on to Hailey’s ovaries.
Ellen, who took part in a cringeworthy interview with Mariah Carey a few years ago, decided to repeat the same mistake by asking when will 24-year-old Hailie start having babies?
Ellen asked: “How many kids are you going to have and when?” Justin said: “I’m going to have as many as Hailey wishes to push out. I’d love to have myself a little tribe. But, yeah, it’s her body and whatever she wants to do.”
Ellen continued: “Does she want a lot?” Justin responded by: “I think she wants to have a few,”
Ellen kept digging a deeper hole by asking: “What are you all waiting for? You know you love kids. You’re so good with kids. What’s the holdup?”
Justin gave the perfect answer by saying: “Thank you for saying that. I think the issue—There’s not really an issue, but I think Hailey still has some things she wants to accomplish as a woman. And I think she just wants to—yeah, I think she just is not ready yet, and I think that’s okay.”
Ellen, who finally realized that she was going too far, decided to change her tune.
She concluded: “I think that’s fantastic. You know what? I was hoping that was the answer. I know how much you love kids, and you’re going to be a such great dad, but I think that’s so important. How old is she? She should wait until she is ready and get everything done she wants to get done.”
While Ellen was facing major backlash over claims she created a toxic environment for the staffers and guests on her show, an eye-popping interview with Mariah resurfaced.
In it, Mariah was pressured by Ellen to talk about her pregnancy. Ellen forced the diva to sip champagne to prove that she was not pregnant. It was later revealed that Mariah had a miscarriage.
Mariah decided to speak about the interview by saying: “I was extremely uncomfortable with that moment, is all I can say. And I really have had a hard time grappling with the aftermath. I wasn’t ready to tell anyone because I had had a miscarriage. I don’t want to throw anyone that’s already being thrown under any proverbial bus, but I didn’t enjoy that moment.”
She added: “[There is] an empathy that can be applied to those moments that I would have liked to have been implemented. But what am I supposed to do?”
This week, the Internet also went over Ellen’s infamous Dakota Johnson interview that aired exactly one year ago.
