Joe Biden Has His First Real Encounter With ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Crowd And This Is What Happened

Joe Biden Kentucky Tornado Outbreak Visit

President Joe Biden was not welcomed by everyone when he traveled to Kentucky on Wednesday to see the damage caused by a recent tornado outbreak.

Some of the locals shouted, “Let’s Go Brandon” as he arrived — a phrase which is supposed to replace “f*** you Biden.”

The chant has become a rallying cry for Republicans and those who are displeased with the different mandates linked to the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, others welcomed his offer of support from the federal government, as President Biden told the crowd that all the costs for the first 30 days of recovery would be covered.

The president explained: “I wasn’t sure I had the authority to do this. But I do. The government’s going to cover 100 percent of the cost of the first 30 days, all the emergency work… the federal government’s going to take care of it.”

Biden continued: “We also need to recognize that people are suffering mentally and emotionally.”

The death toll is currently at 77, but officials are expecting it to increase. In three other states besides Kentucky, 14 people have been reported dead so far.

The president visited Mayfield in western Kentucky, which is the center of the tornado damage. No other area in the state has been more badly affected by the natural disaster in recent days.

President Biden gave a speech after visiting the neighborhood of Dawson Springs and promised communities that the federal government would help them to recover from the devastating damage which has been caused to lives, homes, and businesses.

Mr. Biden stated: “Back where I’m from we’re used to hurricanes and floods and high water. But these tornadoes are just something totally different. They devour everything in their path: your homes, your businesses, your houses of worship, dreams or lives.”

After arriving at the area by plane, the president said he had never seen so much damage caused by a tornado.

And while many in the communities welcomed his offers of help, not everyone was thrilled with his arrival as they shouted, “Let’s Go Brandon.”

It comes as no surprise that the president was met with some degree of hostility since most voters in Kentucky chose Trump over Biden last year during the election. However, President Biden paid little attention and continued with his tour.

In his speech to the people of Kentucky, Biden expressed his sympathies and highlighted the impact of such disasters on homes, businesses, and mental health.

He said it was particularly difficult ahead of the holidays but would ensure that the communities affected received all the help they need.

After a brutal few months with declining poll numbers, President Biden has seen a slight improvement in recent weeks.
