This week, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, put an end to many speculations surrounding their plans for Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee.
Markle and Prince Harry confirmed via their spokesperson that they would indeed attend the celebrations put in place to mark the Queen‘s 70 years on the throne.
The self-exiled couple has also revealed that they plan to bring their young children — Archie and Lilibet Diana — to participate in the festivities.
It will be the opportunity for Queen Elizabeth to finally meet her great-granddaughter, Lilibet Diana, and bond with Archie.
It took Prince Harry less than 18 minutes to announce that he and his family would be in England after Queen Elizabeth released a statement revealing that they would be banned from appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the rest of the working royal family members.
Via their close friend and royal author, Omid Scobie, Markle and Prince Harry issued the following statement: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honored to attend The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children.”
Many were surprised by Prince Harry’s move to return to London with Meghan Markle after their numerous interviews bashing the royal family for failing them during their time of need.
Sitting down with Oprah Winfrey, the royal renegades accused a royal relative of making racist comments about their unborn child.
Prince Harry claimed that his father, Prince Charles, cut him off financially after “Megxit.” So, why are Prince Harry and his family eager to travel to England?
Some royal experts say that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and her husband are hoping to use the opportunity to film a few scenes for their multi-million dollar documentary for Netflix.
Others claimed that the duo might be trying to get into royals’ good grace after their most recent snub.
Some royal pundits believe that Prince Harry and his wife are trying to erase their “rude and petulant” decision not to attend Prince Philip‘s memorial service.
In late March, almost 2000 people, including dignitaries, gathered alongside Queen Elizabeth to pay respect to the late Duke of Edinburgh.
Prince Harry has now been slammed for being the only senior member of the royal family to miss out. The Duke of Sussex was slammed for the shameful absence.
Richard Griffin, who spent 14 years guarding for the late Duke, said: “People were talking about it. Certainly, around where I was, people said that he should have been here. All this nonsense about how he couldn’t get protection, as far as I’m concerned, was a pathetic excuse. He should’ve been here to honor his grandfather.”
He added: “At the end of the day, if he was that worried about security, he could’ve stuck with his brother and father, who have got wonderful security, and he would have been more than safe.”
Royal author and editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward, who penned Prince Philip Revealed, said the choice to skip the somber event was rude and added: “Harry must have known it would look petulant and rude. And if he did not, Meghan would have. The wall of silence was as loud as if they had shouted from the abbey rafters. The normally verbose Duke and Duchess of Sussex said nothing.”
Will all be forgiven for the power couple?
