Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, took their independence from the royal family almost three years ago, and it seems that they are hellbent on keeping that privilege.
When King Charles III took over after Queen Elizabeth II passed away, he clearly wanted Prince Harry and Markle to change their ways.
The serious King doe not want the self-exiled prince and former TV star bashing the monarchy or overshadowing his reign.
His Majesty was quick to find some leverage over the pair. He has been dangling the titles they previously desired for their children, Archie and Lilibet Diana.
King Charles was supposed to issue a new Letters Patent making it possible for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex‘s children to become Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
However, King Charles hesitates regarding granting the titles to the children. King Charles’s decision to use the titles against Prince Harry and Markle gained weight and traction after Danish Queen Margrethe stripped HRH titles from her four youngest grandchildren.
The new King is also being pushed to remove Prince Harry and Markle’s titles for their past actions and revelations.
King Charles hinted that he was serious during his first speech, where he used the official titles of Prince William and Kate Middleton. He opted to call the Sussexes by their first names.
A royal expert has revealed that King Charles is wrong to think that his title’s threat will sway Prince Harry and Markle.
According to royal biographer Valentine Low, Prince Harry and his wife do not need titles to be famous, popular, and relevant. Therefore, King Charles has no leverage over them.
In a passionate conversation between Low and journalist Piers Morgan, the topic of stripping Prince Harry and Markle of their titles came up.
Low said losing the titles would not affect the renegade couple and added: “I think it’s kind of irrelevant. No one really cares about their titles. If you strip them of their titles, there’s still Harry and Meghan. They’d still be equally famous.”
Morgan noted: “They wouldn’t be acting as members of the Royal Family.”
Low interjected: “I don’t think they go around acting as members of the Royal Family.” Morgan had this argument: “Oh, they do. All the paperwork, all the letter headings – it’s all from the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Almost nonsense.”
He concluded by saying: “She calls herself a princess on her podcast. Little girls go and call her a real princess. You’re not a princess. She’s not a princess anyway. But they do it quite deliberately to fuel the interest of commercial entities, and really their interest is based on them trashing their family. Without that, I’m not sure what we’re interested in. We don’t hear their woke families about life, so I’m not sure how this all plays out, but it’s a mess. And Charles may have to deal with it, I think.”
King Charles is adamant about the Sussexes’ place in the monarchy.
