Meghan Markle is a brand, and with her husband, Prince Harry, they are selling the image of a modern couple in love. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also have to be relatable to reach people.
Fans say everything they do is genuine. However, some critics say they push things too far. Moreover, because of some of the issues that they are advocating, they have become easy targets for conservatives.
While they have never endorsed Joe Biden for president in 2020, they have signaled on many occasions that they were not big supporters of former President Donald Trump.
The renegade royals are pushing issues like climate change and paid family leave. These are elements of the Democratic platform. Additionally, there are whispers that Markle might get into politics one day as a Democrat.
Growing up, she was also a fan of former first lady Hillary Clinton. Interestingly, some members of her family seem pro-Trump. For all these reasons, media personality Megyn Kelly had a lot of fun this week debunking some of the myths around Markle.
The ex-Fox News star went after the mother of two for always saying “her husband” on her podcast Archetypes. For Kelly, who is 51 years old, Markle is doing it for attention and to brag about their great life together.
Kelly said: “We get it; you bagged the gorilla. Congratulations, you got the big bear, [and] you want us all to know.”
The former newswoman also went after Markle, 41, for saying that she had never looked up Prince Harry on the internet before they got together.
She stated: “Let’s get real, there’s always that eligible bachelor. For my age, it was JFK Jr.; for her age, it was Prince Harry. She was a liar…that’s really what we’re both saying. She lied about it; she lied.”
Christopher Anderson, author of The King: The Life of Charles III, was a guest on the episode, and he also went after some of the holes in recent claims the couple made.

The shocking revelation about a royal making comments about the Sussexes’ children’s skin tone did not happen the way it was shared during the major bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The royal expert explained: “‘It was an instant conversation about two people who are going…if they are going to be grandparents, Charles and Camilla [were] speculating on what the kids might look like. Obviously, you have two very attractive people here, and “Gee, I wonder what color their eyes will be, what their hair would be like.” You know, this kind of thing it was something I would say [was] relatively benign and witnessed by several people and then spun into something toxic.”
Kelly also brought up some of the darker elements of Prince Harry’s past. She shared with her listeners: “Everybody remembers Harry’s past. I mean, he had trouble with the drugs, he had when he was a teenager – you know the tabloids had a field day with that he wore the Nazi uniform to a costume party – he said some things people interpreted as being anti-Muslim to some Army buddies.”
Fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle say Kelly is just jealous because five years ago, she sounded like a big supporter of the mental health advocate.
