As King Charles III gets ready to celebrate his 75th birthday, his staff members have decided to brief the media on how he will celebrate the milestone.
Royal aides have also opted to reveal who will be there and, of course, who will not. His Majesty, under the orders of Prince William, will be having a low-key birthday party where he will be surrounded by close family members, including the heir to the throne, Kate Middleton, and their three children.
King Charles will have his siblings, including his disgraced brother, Prince Andrew, who has officially been welcomed back into the fold.
Who will not be there? That is easy, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, will not travel to London for the royal birthday bash.
According to the Sunday Times: “Insiders say that while the Duke of Sussex has been invited to the soirée, he will not be attending on November 14.”
Royal sources have also confirmed that Prince Harry and the King still “don’t speak much.” They have not spoken for over a year, the person in the know claimed.
The aides revealed: “There’s no sign of a rapprochement yet. It’s too soon. But time is a great healer.”
Recently, a former staff member of King Charles told the Daily Beast that the current situation is “not sustainable” and went on to explain why by adding: “It’s not sustainable for the king, who is the national symbol of unity, to be on such bad terms with his son that they haven’t been pictured together in years. Ultimately, Charles has not just a personal, but also a strategic need to resolve the issue.”
By not talking to Prince Harry for more than 12 months, it seems that King Charles is doing something about the situation by taking Ed Owens‘s suggestion.
The royal author and expert has been pushing King Charles to remove the narrative that the Royal Family is ideal and that they are moral exemplars.
He stated: “So why not, as I suggest in my book, do away with this family narrative once and for all? We don’t need to have this big Royal Family present themselves as moral exemplars. King Charles is uniquely placed because he knows firsthand that the ideal of the family rarely matches the reality of the family monarchy.”
Some were hoping that Catherine, Princess of Wales, would find a way for the two sides to make peace. However, she is no longer interested in the role.
