King Charles III is getting ready for the event of the year, the Trooping the Colour. The spectacular celebration of The King‘s birthday will take place on June 15.
There will be multiple events around the UK and the Commonwealth to honor His Majesty. Anticipate a grand spectacle in London, with an impressive parade, a majestic flyover, and, of course, the iconic family photo at Buckingham Palace, marking the highlight of the celebrations.
However, this year, the balcony will look empty because Kate Middleton is ill and will most likely be absent from the event.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children may not even attend the event. Because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not working royals, they have been banned from the balcony.
Prince Harry and Markle attended Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee. They were not allowed to appear on the balcony and were stuck inside the fancy Buckingham Place apartment looking through a window.
However, it seems that King Charles is willing to change the rules of Trooping the Colour after a horrific event in the family.
King Charles and Queen Camilla have invited Lady Gabriella Windsor to the gathering after her husband, Thomas Kingston, died by suicide in February.
Richard Eden at The Daily Mail revealed: “Now, the Royal Family is rallying round once again, this time to help Lady Gabriella – daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent – to recover from the ordeal. I can reveal that their Majesties have invited Ella, as she is known by friends, to attend the King’s Birthday Parade next month. The parade is the formal name for Trooping the Colour, and an appearance at the occasion would be the first time she had been seen in public since her husband’s death. Everyone hopes Ella will attend the celebrations if she feels up to it,’ a royal source tells me. ‘It would be a powerful signal of the Family’s love and concern for her.'”
Eden also thinks King Charles should modify the rules to have the entire family on the balcony while keeping the ban in place for Prince Harry, Markle, and Prince Andrew.
He explained: “The King should invite all members of the extended Royal Family to join him and Queen Camilla when they step outside to acknowledge the crowds. For example, what about Zara and Mike Tindall, who are so popular with the public? Or, the Duke of Kent’s children, such as Lady Helen Taylor, or even the duke’s glamorous granddaughters, Lady Amelia Windsor and her sister Lady Marina?”
He went on to say: “All, except for Prince Andrew, whose presence would be an embarrassment. And the Sussexes, whose inclusion would be an insult to the Royal Family and its millions of supporters. A full balcony would cheer the nation. It would be a fillip to the monarchy at a difficult time. It would be a powerful display of unity and strength.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are trying to chart a new course.
