Prince William enjoyed Trooping the Colour and received an unexpected wake-up call after the ceremony.
He was delighted to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony with King Charles III, his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte.
However, post-Trooping Prince William faced criticism from a stern monarchy supporter. Prince William was brought down from his cloud nine with an article written by The Daily Mail‘s columnist Richard Eden.
The royal expert poked holes in King Charles’s decision to dramatically slim down the nonarchy. He explained that it would eventually hurt the UK’s standing and wondered if Prince William would handle the situation differently when he inherited the throne.
However, the author and royal journalist was crushed to learn Prince William is 100 percent backing his father’s policy.
Prince William is thinking ahead about his children, as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The reporter shared: “At the weekend, though, the junior royals were asked not to join the more senior members of ‘The Firm’ on the balcony. Instead, there was the sad sight of Lord Frederick Windsor, son of Queen Elizabeth’s beloved first cousin Prince Michael of Kent, glimpsed behind the curtain in the Centre Room at the palace. Like his recently bereaved sister, Lady Gabriella Windsor, Lord Freddie was asked to stay out of sight like some embarrassing relative. This is because King Charles chose to stick with the post-pandemic policy of his late mother and allowed only ‘working royals’ on the balcony.”
According to Eden, he was shocked after having a conversation with one of Prince William’s closest friends.

The royal expert claimed that Prince William had decided that Prince Harry, Markle, and their children would never be invited to the famous balcony.
Prince William and Middleton have more or less ruled out the option of being working royals for their two youngest children.
In Prince William’s vision for the monarchy, he, his wife, and the heir, Prince Gorge, will be the last ones standing on the balcony of reality.
He stated: “When I later spoke to Prince William’s friend, I hoped that he would bring news of a change to this uninspiring policy. However, what he told me left me worried about the future of the Monarchy. The friend said William was in ‘full agreement’ with his father about needing a ‘slimmed-down monarchy.’ He told me: ‘When the older members of the family retire, His Royal Highness won’t be inviting anyone else to become working royals. It remains to be seen if he will even want his two younger children to be working royals.'”
Some observers say that reconciliation between the two side is becoming more elusive.
