King Charles III thinks of himself as a fair man. He has been juggling the weight of being King and a family man.
However, it has reached the point where he finally understood that he can only work and spend time with some family members. Indeed, the days when King Charles was hoping and praying to be with all of his family are long gone.
King Charles has made numerous attempts, even using backchannels, to contact Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to maintaining a relationship with them.
He has also directly extended olive branches to the pair because he was desperate to see and spend time with his two young grandchildren — Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. King Charles has often talked about his desire to keep the family together.
However, Meghan Markle’s decision to maintain her distance from London and the Royal Family, a choice she sees as a necessary evil for her peace of mind, has made these attempts futile and added a layer of complexity to the situation.
The former actress revealed she was hurt by the Royal Family and the British media and, therefore, will not return.
Her decision has significant implications, as it means that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet cannot visit their second country without their mother.
Prince Harry has traveled to the UK multiple times without his two children. King Charles has decided to hit back at Markle’s determination to keep his grandchildren away from him.
Given the circumstances, King Charles, who is battling cancer, has made a difficult decision. He has chosen to prioritize his peace of mind and has decided not to extend an invitation to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their young children for a vacation at Balmoral.
A royal source who spoke to Express revealed: “The King was keen to keep everyone happy during the Balmoral stay this year.”
The person went on to say that Kate Middleton and King Charles have had a rough couple of months battling severe illnesses, and they need the family vacation to calm down, relax, and recuperate without having the tension of Prince Harry and Markle looming in the castle.
The family friend stated: “Charles and Kate have gone through a very difficult year, so it was time for everyone to come together to celebrate the progress made and keep things in a positive mindset.”
King Charles is also keeping Prince Harry and Markle at an arm’s distance to protect Queen Camilla, who has been brutally attacked in a book, Netflix series, and interviews.
The insider explained: “Charles is also very protective of his wife [Queen Camilla], so he wanted to ensure everyone was comfortable with the plans put forward for Balmoral this summer.”
The two sides are slowly moving forward and leaving the past behind.
