Queen Camilla’s royal dresser more or less banned Princess Kate, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and other royal ladies from wearing blue.
The insider explained that Queen Camilla’s dresser, Jacqui Meakin, initially “ruffled a few feathers” at Buckingham Palace by imposing “strict rules about who could wear what color, most notably blue.”
And without much fanfare, Queen Camilla stepped in to resolve this serious royal affair. Reports later revealed that the rules were relaxed, allowing Kate Middleton and other royal ladies to wear blue, albeit in shades different from Queen Camilla’s outfit.
The source told Express.co.uk: “The Queen can now choose her outfits before all the other women in the Royal Family. It’s part of the royal pecking order, including the clothes and color. Her Majesty’s favorite color is blue, and so is Kate’s. Sophie is also quite fond of it.”
The insider added: “There was a time when Jacqui [Meakin] was a bit apprehensive about allowing blue to be worn at the same time as the Queen, but she’s relaxed that now as long as the blues are very different shades.
Ultimately, the situation took a turn towards the comical, with all the ladies, including Queen Camilla, finding humor in the strict color rules.
The person claimed: “In the end, it all became a bit comical with all the ladies seeing the funny side.”
