As the heir to the throne, he has no choice but to learn lessons from his complex and traumatizing experiences. The future King has accepted his past and decided to forge ahead.
Prince William has done just that; those who work with the royal describe him as strong, sometimes stubborn, and an action-taker.
Kate Middleton‘s husband is also a man who commands respect and will not hesitate to discipline those who cause harm to his family or the monarchy.
Royal author Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine: “William has always been a strong character. His broken childhood made him tough and resolute. He now has the reputation of being stubborn, and once his mind is made up, he sticks to his decision.”
She continued: “He is definitely someone who commands respect within the family and whose views hold considerable sway. Obviously, as heir to the throne, his word carries a lot of weight in the family, and I think it’s true that he has been prepared to take a tough stand on several issues, including [Princes] Andrew and Harry.”
These tough stances have often defended the monarchy and its traditions. Oddly enough, King Charles III did not push Prince William to be firm and decisive.

A royal source told The Daily Beast that Prince William has fully assumed the mantle of the family’s “disciplinarian,” particularly with Prince Harry, which King Charles failed to do.
The insider added: “There is a sense that William has stepped into the Prince Philip role. Philip ruled the family with a rod of iron, and you saw when he died that discipline collapsed. Now William is calling the shots when it comes to family discipline.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have repeatedly discovered how far Prince William will go to punish them after they have overstepped or said too much.

On their Netflix series Harry & Meghan, Prince Harry confessed that a story leaked in the media, claiming that he and Markle had stepped down from their royal duties because Prince William had bullied them.
He shared: “And I get, part of that I get. I understand. That’s his inheritance, so to some extent, it’s already ingrained in him that part of his responsibility is this institution’s survivability and continuation. That day, a story emerged about why Meghan and I were leaving because William had bullied us out.”
Prince Harry revealed that Markle was in tears when she described Prince William and the monarchy’s statement on the story.
He shared: “I mean, the saddest part of it was this wedge created between me and my brother so that he’s now on the institution’s side. I couldn’t believe it. No one had asked me permission to put my name on a statement like that. I called [Meghan], and I told her, and she burst into tears because within four hours, they were happy to lie to protect my brother, yet for three years, they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.”
Prince William has picked up where his grandfather left off; he is the enforcer, the tough guy of the Royal Family, and does not need King Charles’s permission to act when he deems necessary.
