Meghan Markle is stepping into the spotlight with the much-anticipated release of her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
The show, a unique blend of cookery and lifestyle, revolves around Markle and a touch of Prince Harry as they host a grand gathering for family and famous friends at a sprawling Montecito mansion.
Markle does the heavy or light lifting, depending on who you ask. She bakes delicate pastries, makes beautiful flower arrangements, and prepares simple yet fancy meals for her wealthy guests.
The multi-part series has garnered significant attention, albeit for reasons that have sparked criticism.
Many on social media predict and pray it will fail because Markle appears out of touch and out of her league compared to guru Gwyneth Paltrow and actress and host Pamela Anderson.
Markle is not only being torn to shreds by outsiders; insiders and those in the know are brutally exposing her.
Those who work closely with Meghan Markle told The Times that they do not believe Netflix will renew her show because she is a “nightmare” to work with.
The publication wrote: “In Los Angeles, many have assumed that the Sussexes’ relationship with Netflix is now on borrowed time, especially amid talk that the couple were difficult to work with. “The word bandied around internally is ‘nightmare,'” said a company insider. The chances of a deal being renewed were thought to rest on With Love, Meghan proving a major success.”
Others who teamed up with the Duchess of Sussex delivered a backhand compliment by saying Netflix would always call them because they bring drama, controversies, and chaos, which equates to massive viewerships.
The royal insider explained to the media outlet: “As long as Meghan and Harry are selling themselves, people will tune in — whether they’re fans or watching through their fingers. It’s where they have ventured beyond themselves and tried to say something about the wider world that they have struggled.”
Another source stated that while no one will be interested in the series’ content, they do not care as long as they bring in the deals.
The insider said: “It is filmed in a Californian farmhouse, not the couple’s Montecito mansion with its Tuscan architecture and 13 fireplaces — but so long as it is being talked about, will Netflix care?”
The person went on to share: “There’s a feeling that Netflix hasn’t got great value for money [from the Sussexes] because they were buying exclusivity — but then the couple appeared in other places, like their podcasts, and because their popularity has nosedived. This might be a way to milk some value out of them.”
The former actress has a few obstacles on her way.
