Prince William is finally getting some unexpectedly good news from Australia. This week, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been making waves during a four-day private tour from Down Under. The couple has dedicated significant time to charitable causes with a mix of businesses.
As the world’s media focuses on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s every move; the Royal Family, King Charles III, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, back in the United Kingdom, have reportedly been advised to treat the excursion as a non-event and not to engage or compete.
The trip coincides with the Easter holidays, allowing the King and the Wales family to remain entirely detached from the Sussexes’ itinerary.
One source revealed via Jennie Bond: “This trip coincides with the Easter holidays over here, when the rest of the royal family takes a bit of time off. So there are no major conflicts with the royal diary. And I doubt that they will be paying much attention to it.”
Adding to the sense of royal indifference, insiders suggest that the working royals are more focused on their own duties and family time than any “quasi-royal” appearances abroad.
Another insider revealed: “The Palace is operating on a ‘business as usual’ basis, and there is a firm feeling that what Harry and Meghan do in their private capacity is no longer a concern of the firm.”
However, it is believed that one specific moment from the trip has likely caught the Prince of Wales‘s eye. A viral photo taken from an overhead angle during Harry’s visit has highlighted his significant hair loss, showing a large thinning patch on the crown of his head.
This comes as a “taste of his own medicine” after Harry famously mocked his older brother’s appearance in his memoir. In his book, Spare, the Duke of Sussex claimed: “I took it all in, his familiar scowl, which had always been his default in dealings with me. His alarming baldness, more advanced than my own.”
Harry did not stop there, further insulting his brother’s connection to their late mother’s legacy by suggesting his looks were fading. In another passage, Harry made a mean-spirited comment: “I looked at Willy, really looked at him, perhaps for the first time since we were little… I found William’s baldness ‘alarming’ and more ‘advanced’ than my own. His resemblance to our mother was fading.”
Prince William, who has long been the target of Harry’s jabs regarding his hairline, has often used self-deprecating humor to handle the topic in public. During a visit to a hair salon years ago, the future king stated: “I don’t have much hair, I can’t give you much business.”
Now, with the tables turned and Harry’s own “alarming” baldness on full display for the world to see, it is rumored that William is getting a much-needed laugh at the irony.
After years of Harry acting superior about his red locks, the “wicked” bald patch in Melbourne has proven that the “Spare” is not immune to the family genes he once used as a weapon.
