Patricia Heaton Unleashes on Donald Trump Critics With ‘Dangerous’ Claim

Patricia Heaton Donald Trump Critics

Patricia Heaton has a long-standing refusal to back down from her convictions. However, the conservative actress and star of Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle has recently made a major shift, moving from general “family values” commentary to a direct defense of the Donald Trump administration’s legitimacy, regardless of potential consequences.

It appears that Heaton’s deep-seated conservative views and political stances have historically caused friction with her supporters and co-stars.

During her time on Everybody Loves Raymond, she famously butted heads with co-star Peter Boyle. During a heated political argument, she allegedly called him a “flag-burning communist.”

The “Friendly Federal Assassin” And Toxic Rhetoric

Despite the feuds with both fans and colleagues, Heaton is not letting up. Her most recent political moves center on the idea that “gratitude” for the country must outweigh political hatred.

Following the shooting at the 2026 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, the actress took to social media to share her frustration about the language found in the suspect’s writings.

Cole Tomas Allen, who targeted several politicians, including President Donald Trump, sent his manifesto to family members shortly before rushing the security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton.

In the lengthy and disturbingly detailed document, Allen referred to himself as a “friendly federal assassin.” Heaton claimed that this type of language has become normalized.

“When you read the manifesto of this shooter, ask yourselves, how different is the rhetoric than what you read on social media and hear in various forums every single day?” the actress stated. “The answer, if you’re being honest with yourself, is that there is no difference at all. Much of the manifesto of the would-be assassin is indistinguishable from the words we hear daily from so many.”

Gratitude Over Existential Threats

In her effort to shame what she calls the “extreme left” into self-reflection, she explained that while she did not support the victories of past Democratic presidents, she never resorted to labeling them as existential threats.

“I wasn’t happy when [Bill] Clinton, [Barack] Obama or [Joe] Biden won, but I didn’t call them fascist/dangerous/threat to democracy. I didn’t hope someone would assassinate them. I went on with my life with gratitude. Friends on the left, please try this.”

As stated above, Heaton has been vocal about her positions and seems delighted to push back when challenged by liberal or more nuanced supporters.

Following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in September 2025, Heaton apparently called out what she perceives as the hypocrisy of “kindness” culture in politics, she claimed: “The most violent rhetoric is always from people who have phrases like ‘choose kindness’ in their bios.”

She went on to say: “It is a sobering reminder that words have consequences, and those who preach peace are often the ones cheering for the destruction of their rivals.”

Trump claimed that the support from Hollywood figures like Heaton has been a vital part of his administration’s message of national recovery.

In early 2025, Heaton shed her optimism about the current term, as the actress stated, “President Trump has America on the right track… I’m optimistic that we are finally moving away from the constant division that defined the last few years.”

However, many conservative actors have claimed to be blacklisted for sharing their views. Either that is not the case for Heaton, or her passion for all things Trump is too profound for her to be silent.

Moreover, some of critics point out that Mr. Trump routinely uses violent language to describe his political oppenets. They see her statement as hypocritical.
