She died on her way there. Although the cause of death is still not official, suicide by hanging seems to be the working theory for people involved with the investigation. Additional tests were conducted by the coroner, and results will not be known for weeks.

The coroner reportedly told her mother, Kylie, and sister, Lauren, not to see her at the morgue because she was in a sad state. Nonetheless, they will now have to fly back to Australia with her remains.

CCTV cameras caught her final moments and investigators are using them to get a clearer picture of what happened. At least, they could squash the conspiracy theories that were started online after the news of her death broke.

McNamara was on her last shift on the Mayan Queen IV. The owner of the $190-million boat was not present at the time of the tragic incident. Authorities in Kefalonia, Greece finally allowed the superyacht to leave the area on Monday. The woman died on Friday.

After going through her belongings and speaking to some of the 23 crew members, investigators told local media as reported by the Daily Mail UK, that McNamara had recently broken up with her boyfriend.

Friends have taken over the comment section on McNamara’s Instagram page to pay tribute. They all describe a woman full of life always encouraging them to live to the fullest.
