Missouri Man Arrested After Farting — Hilarious Story Is Linked To Criminal Justice Reform By Some

Huge Fart Helps Police Sniff Out Suspect Hiding From Arrest

A criminal, who was hiding from authorities, was betrayed by his own body after he let out a loud fart that allowed Missouri police to track down his location easily.

The incident was so comical in the eyes of arresting officers that the Clay County Sherriff’s Department specifically took to social media to comment about the situation and to brag about the way they had caught the suspect.

Via Facebook, the sheriff’s office posted a photo of two members of their department with police dogs and wrote the following caption: “If you’ve got a felony warrant for your arrest, the cops are looking for you, and you pass gas so loud it gives up your hiding spot, you’re definitely having a ? day. ? #ItHappened.”

They added: “We’ve gotta give props to Liberty PD for using their senses to sniff him out!”

On Twitter, the Liberty City Police Department poked fun at the man by saying that “they were surprised to see the incident slip out, which stinks for the arrestee.” The authorities did not share the name of the suspect.

It is not known where the man was hiding for and how long he was being chased in the first place, as authorities have not released any additional information about the incident so far. All that is known, it was a Clay County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

However, there has been no shortage of jokes on social media, with many making puns based on the situation and laughing about the overall ridiculousness of it all.

Other than that incident, the arrest was reportedly carried out without any issues, as officers were able to capture the man with no complications.

Many have jumped in the Clay County Sherriff’s Department’s official Facebook page to inquire more about the case, but it looks like authorities have been quiet about the incident and have refused to reveal more.

There has even been speculation on the part of people claiming that they knew the suspect on social media, but given the nature of these platforms, it is probably best to take these claims with a grain of salt.

Not much has been revealed about the situation thus far, other than the comical announcement of the initial arrest, and the various comments that followed on social media and news outlets afterward.

Some have used this story to make a point about the need for real criminal justice reform. Proponents of the issue say the war on drug has failed, especially when police forces spend valuable resources to go after low-level suspects like this one.
