According to recent information, R. Kelly’s legal defense has come up with a new strategy on how to battle some of the numerous charges against the disgraced R&B mogul.
The “I Believe I Can Fly” artist has been accused of running organized criminal activities that consisted of having his various employees advertising his songs and recruiting underage sex slaves for him.
Reportedly, in a new motion to the Brooklyn federal court that was filed on Friday, Kelly and his lawyer insisted that since Kelly was the only one put on trial, then whatever he had been doing cannot be deemed as racketeering, because a single person could not “form a legally cognizable…enterprise under the law,/” and therefore the 12-count of racketeering charge against him should be dropped.
Besides racketeering, the 53-year-old musician is also charged in New York for bribing a government employee in 1994, when he wanted to marry Aaliyah, who was underage at the time.
Back then, Kelly allegedly secured the young star with fake identity documents so that the wedding ceremony could go through.
In addition, Kelly’s legal troubles involve separate trials in Chicago and Minnesota. In Illinois, the notorious celebrity has been charged with sexual abuse of minors, as well as having child pornography, whereas, in Minnesota, the singer was accused of reportedly exploiting a 17-year-old girl in his hotel room.
Apparently, the famous musician met the minor at a public event and invited her to his room, where he made her dance without clothes for him in exchange for money.
The Chicago native has lost the support of one person since he was thrown in jail, his ex-girlfriend, Azriel Clary. The young woman now claims that he made her do some very questionable things like eating her own feces.
Clary stated: “He has a video of me, he made me do this video, actually, of me doing a number two in a cup, and then eating it, out of the cup.”
The shocking revelation has sparked a lot of reactions online and some commenters are even saying that the young woman should have kept the details to herself.
One person stated: “I hope she gets the help she needs. The media is just trying to exploit her which isn’t any better. She should only be discussing these things with a therapist and her lawyer ❤️.”
A second commenter added: “Girl you did that yourself ‼️ seriously was this BEFORE or AFTER the Gayle king interview 👀.”
Clary, who now lives with her parents, previously defended Kelly in an epic interview with CBS’ Gayle King last year where she accompanied by his other girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage.
