Prince Philip and his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, are like all grandparents — they cannot help play favorites.
Elizabeth and her spouse are the parents of four children, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward.
They are the grandparents of eight grandchildren whom they love and spend a lot of quality time with, doing various activities, including horse horseback riding.
Some would predict that Prince Philip is really fond of his grandsons, Prince William and Prince Harry, but that is not the case.
According to those with access to the royal family, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen are very close to their youngest granddaughter, Lady Louise Windsor.
Lady Louise Windsor is the 16-year-old daughter of Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
Lady Louise is known to vacation with her grandparents at the Balmoral estate in Scotland, where she gets to enjoy her passion and love of horses.
The Queen shared a heartfelt message about the cancellation of Royal Ascot because of the coronavirus.
This is the first time during her reign that the horse race, considered one of the most significant social events, was scrapped. The Royal Ascot has been around since 1711.
The Queen stated: “I send my best wishes to the thousands of racing professionals and enthusiasts who will join me in celebrating this year’s Royal Ascot. In these challenging times, we are once again delighted to welcome the best horses and jockeys from across the world and pay tribute to those who have helped make this race meeting possible. This year Ascot will feel different for many, as it is so often a chance for friends, families, and colleagues to gather together and enjoy a shared passion.”
While Lady Louise is known for being a competitive horseback rider, she has also been in the news because of her eyes.
In a past interview, Sophie Wessex explained that her daughter suffered from an eye condition called strabismus.
Sophie revealed: “Premature babies can often have squints because the eyes are the last thing in the baby package to really be finalized. She’s fine now – her eyesight is perfect. Her squint was quite profound when she was tiny, and it takes time to correct it. You’ve got to make sure one eye doesn’t become more dominant than the other, but she’s fine now – her eyesight is perfect.”
Her grandparents enjoy her company very much, this might have to do with her young age.
