With lots of excitement, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, announced that they had signed a massive deal with Netflix.
Media experts say that there is a possibility that the royals got a reported $150 million to produce multiple and uplifting documentaries, docuseries, films, scripted shows, and children’s programming.
The former actress and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, plan to launch a production company sooner than later to put out programs for the masses.
The Sussexes shared a statement where they explained that their primary focus would be “creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
Royal fans, who support the power couple, are delighted about the news, but the production company and the deal is already marred with controversy and drama.
There is a huge possibility that Harry and Meghan might be facing off with Queen Elizabeth II over the deal.
According to the British media, royal officials will examine Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal because of the contract that they signed before leaving London.
It has been confirmed that they “agreed to the approval of any new commercial ventures when they quit public life.”
The documents signed by Harry and his spouse also stipulate that “any profit-oriented plans would be subject to discussion.”
The source told the Mirror: “Harry and Meghan did leave as working members of the family with everyone’s best wishes, and it is sincerely hoped they find the happiness that appeared to be lacking in their lives. However, it goes without saying any deals they are making will be scrutinized by the royal household. Under the terms of their deal to forgo their royal duties, they agreed any commercial deals are subject to discussion.”
Harry and Meghan, who had owed the British taxpayers about 3.1 million USD for the renovation of their home, paid the amount in full today, but some critics are now demanding they reimburse the cost of their lavish royal wedding.
