Soon after attending Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Meghan Markle will be flying solo into the business world.
This summer, all eyes will be on Prince Harry and Markle as they travel to London for the first time with their children — Archie and Lilibet Diana.
After enjoying the spotlight and taking part in events that mark Queen Elizabeth‘s milestone of 70 years on the throne, Markle will have the world listening to her every word.
The former American actress will launch her highly anticipated podcast, Archetypes.
Many royal experts predict that Markle, a great orator and narrator, will undoubtedly captivate (or captivate anew) a broad audience with her questions and views on matters related to women.
Weighing in on Markle’s big and smart summer plans, royal author and marketing expert Pauline MacLaran explained that since “Megxit,” Markle has lost the attention and adoration of the British people.
The scandalous interview with Oprah Winfrey did not help her or Prince Harry win back those they left in the UK.
However, if done correctly, the launch of Markle’s newest project might be enough to weel some of the support that she lost back into the fold.
According to the writer: “Certainly, on the U.K. side, people have become rather disaffected with them. There does seem to have been all this anticipation [for the podcast] and nothing produced yet, although Meghan’s Archetypes series is supposed to be out soon.”
The professor of marketing & consumer research at Royal Holloway University in London went on to say that the latest business venture will give Markle and Prince Harry the opportunity to re-establish their now lackluster popularity.
She continued: “But I think they definitely need something out in a more concrete way, to sort of prove themselves in a way. That they can be successful. I can’t really speak for the American mood on this because I hear different things because they seem to be more popular there. Although again, they don’t seem to be classed as A-list celebrities. So the jury is out there.”
The expert revealed why the Duchess of Sussex is wise to fly solo with the podcast.
She said: “If this Archetypes series comes out, this could pack a punch. Meghan is an independent woman, so she would be anxious to prove herself on her own. Of course, she still has the connection with Harry that gives her more kudos. So she still has that even on her own. And it does appear that it’s a program much more suitable for her to do on her own, and I think it would only look silly if Harry was involved. He would look very much to be tagging onto that which wouldn’t be appropriate either.”
Meghan Markle, who recently suffered a significant setback with her Netflix series, Pearl, is expected to pull all the big guns for her upcoming podcast, Archetypes.
During an appearance on Pod Save The Queen, Russell Myers, the royal editor at the Daily Mirror, said Markle will have a lineup of epic guests and added: “This is going to be huge because she will pull in the big guns. You would imagine that she will have lots of very powerful, famous women and women who have overcome adversity to rise up through the ranks in whatever industry and field that they have become successful in. I think it’s hugely exciting.”
Some royal pundits in the media believe that Markle might sit down with heavy hitters such as Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Markle’s podcast will explore how stereotypes were born and their impact on women around the world.
