Queen Elizabeth’s Arcane Rule Might Have Pushed Princess Eugenie To Delay Her Pregnancy Announcement

Princess Eugenie Queen Elizabeth's Rule Might Have Pushed Back Baby News

Recently, Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, delighted royal fans by revealing to the world that they will soon become first-time parents.

The pregnancy was not a big surprise because the 30-year-old royal was spotted with a baby bump several weeks prior while walking around London.

Queen Elizabeth II‘s granddaughter and Jack, 34, shared an adorable picture post on Instagram, which served as the official announcement.

In the photo, Eugenie and her hubby, Jack, are holding tightly to a pair of beige fuzzy baby shoes with a teddy bear face on them.

The caption read: “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021…??” Buckingham Palace also issued a statement and confirmed that another royal baby is on the way.

While Princess Eugenie’s exact due date was not revealed, fans were told that she would give birth in early 2021.

The Palace wrote: “Her Royal Highness, Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021. The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr. and Mrs. George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news.”

Many are wondering, why did Princess Eugenie wait so long to share her happy baby news? Some predict that Eugenie will give birth around January or February.

It is believed that the royal baby announcement might have been delayed because of a rule that the Queen put in place many years ago.

Her Majesty does not allow one royal family member to announce big news while another is getting ready for a huge life-changing event. The rule often applies to royal weddings, pregnancies, and engagements.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle broke that unwritten rule by dropping their baby news three days after Eugenie got married.

There is a possibility that Eugenie delayed her news because of her sister, Princess Beatrice‘s royal wedding.

Princess Beatrice was set to get married in late May, but because of the coronavirus, they had to postpone it.

Princess Beatrice eventually got married in a very private ceremony in July with only a handful of attendees.

Eugenie could have decided to delay her pregnancy announcement to avoid taking the spotlight from her sibling’s big day.

When it comes to what Harry and Meghan did, Eugenie has reportedly forgiven them and remained very close to her cousin.

The power couple reached out to the mother-to-be privately after the big announcement.
