Paul McCartney is not one of the most active celebrities on social media, and he has, in fact, been a bit distant from his fans in this regard.
Yet, he still chooses to engage his followers from time to time, and it looks like his reluctance to be more active on this front has only served to drive up people’s interest in his affairs.
McCartney recently posted a photo of his wife, Nancy Shevell, focusing on her beautiful smile as she wore a stunning pair of earrings and a colorful top.
The co-lead vocalist and bassist for the Beatles had this caption: “Congratulations Nancy on our 9th Wedding Anniversary. Thanks for 9 beautiful years of marriage. You are my rock and roll, you are my A side and B side, you are my verse and chorus. I love you. Paul”
Some comments on the post were a bit odd, though, as some fans quickly noticed that McCartney and his wife had apparently gotten married on a very special date — the birthday of the music icon’s late friend, John Lennon.
Paul McCartney and Nancy wed in London on October 9, 2011, at Marylebone Town Hall. As for John Winston Ono Lennon, he was born October 9, 1940.
Reactions to that revelation were a bit divided, with some fans questioning the ethics of doing something like this.
However, others saw it as a special gesture, one that was meant to celebrate John Lennon and ensure that his birthday was remembered in an even more special way.
Of course, which of the two is true is impossible to tell, and McCartney himself has not been too eager to comment on the situation either.
The one thing observers know for sure is that McCartney was actually quite excited about his wedding when it happened nearly a decade ago, expressing how wonderful the event made him feel and what a special place his wife had in his heart.
And in a style typical for him, the wedding was executed in a relatively unassuming manner, with a small number of attendants away from the public eye.
At the time, it was revealed that the low-key ceremony was attended by only those close to the music legend, including Ringo Starr, Twiggy, and David Frost.
With a net worth of $1.2 billion, McCartney has proven more than once that he is very smooth at handling his business, and it seems that he is dealing with this marriage in a similar fashion.
