Kendall Jenner shared a video to Instagram on Monday showing off her toned figure as she knelt on the bathroom floor wearing a bikini.
The 25-year-old influencer shared the video to her Instagram Stories on Monday, and it has gone viral and caused a great deal of controversy because she was caught red-handed photoshopping her figure.
At the beginning of the short clip, Kendall Jenner is seen in the reflection of a bathroom mirror, kneeling on the floor with one hand on her thigh.
She then uses both hands to hold her iPhone and zoom in, giving her 153 million followers a closer look at her toned tummy and slim physique.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star wore a floral bikini set with frill detail and accessorized with a gold necklace and bracelet.
Her manicured nails and dark hair contrasted with her brightly-colored bikini set, covered with a pattern of different flowers.
In the background, fans spotted fresh towels on the shelves and a white plant in a pot which perfectly matched the décor of the contemporary bathroom.
A close-up of Kendall Jenner’s video was shared on Celebplastic, where it was revealed that she suffered a major Photoshop fail.
The video is glitching, which implies that she used a body filter that makes her stomach and belly button appear slimmer than they really are.
Many fans were upset because Jenner is pushing unrealistic ideals for the young women who support her brand.
An angry supporter stated: “This is really f’d up for young impressionable girls lacking confidence with no good role models. Taught my daughter young this is all smoke and mirrors.”
Another shared: “Thank you for this – eye-opening but also devastating.”
The controversial video was posted just days after Kendall Jenner was accused by social media users of enhancing images from a Valentine’s Day photoshoot using an editing software.
Even fans of the model were quick to point out that Kendall is “gorgeous,” but the proportions did not match hers, and her bikini line was “unnaturally smooth” in the picture.
The photoshoot for Kim Kardashian‘s lingerie brand, SKIMS, included the founder herself, alongside sisters Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner.
Social media users said “all bodies are beautiful,” but warned against comparisons to heavily-edited images.
Kendall Jenner has also received backlash recently for her new Tequila brand, 818, after some claimed it was cultural appropriation.
However, others noticed that male celebrities, including George Clooney, did not receive the same response when he co-founded a tequila brand in 2013.
