Corvontae Davis has met with #RepoRachel, the name given to a white woman, who pulled out her phone and called the police on him as he was trying to get in his own car.
Tuesday, Davis was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he was supposed to meet with his brother for lunch.
In a post he shared on Facebook, Davis explained that he struggled to get into his stylish 2016 Ford Mustang that features a keyless entry.
A woman with long blonde hair and wearing a floral dress started screaming at Davis.
She assumed that he was stealing the car and proceeded to call the police.
Davis explained: “So, apparently now people can’t enter their own vehicles. #RepoRachel decided to call the cops on me today here in the important word of Milwaukee Wisconsin as she believed I was breaking into my own car. When I went back to retrieve change to put into the parking meter. MPD did get involve but handled it appropriately and let me enjoy my day.”
Davis did an interview with the Milwaukee Journal where he said that the whole thing was “very embarrassing” for him because he is actually an officer.
He shared: “I work for the State of Wisconsin as an officer at a local prison and to be accused of such behavior; it’s mind-boggling.”
According to Davis, the unnamed woman acted in a cowardly manner by fleeing the scene as soon as the police arrived.
He stated: “She stood there for a little while. And when she noticed that the cops arrived, she went off and didn’t interact with the police department. She didn’t interact with me either. She left me there to explain myself and the situation and what was going on.”
Mr. Davis rapidly proved that he is the owner of the car and the police officers apologized.
Davis said the woman owes him an apology.
