It is not often that President Donald Trump folds or caves — but on Sunday, he was forced to delete one of his viral tweets, it was promoting blatant racism.

The President of the United States shared a controversial video that featured a white man who was part of a group of demonstrators in golf carts, riding around The Villages, a retirement community in Florida.

In the clip, the elderly man carrying a “Trump 2020” sign could be heard saying “America First” and “white power” during the protest. Trump used the caption to thank his senior supporters for the golf cart parade.

He wrote: “Thank you to the great people of The Villages,” Trump said in a post retweeting the video. “The Radical Left Do Nothing Democrats will Fall in the Fall. Corrupt Joe is shot. See you soon!!!”

Millions of people took to Twitter, where they slammed the President for promoting hate and racism.

Americans were angered to see Trump pushing a video about white power in the middle of the mass protests taking place in the country against systemic racism, police brutality, and cries/petitions for confederate statues and flags to be torn down.

Former Vice President Joe Biden was quick to release a statement via social media blasting Trump.

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee stated that Trump had once more sided with the wrong side and added: “Today the President shared a video of people shouting ‘white power’ and said they were ‘great.’ Just like he did after Charlottesville,” Biden tweeted Sunday, referring to Trump’s comments after the deadly 2017 white supremacist rally and counterprotest in Virginia that there were “very fine people on both sides.”

Biden went on to say: “We’re in a battle for the soul of the nation — and the President has picked a side. But make no mistake: it’s a battle we will win.”

In a surprising move, Trump deleted the post — but failed to give an explanation.

However, White House spokesperson Judd Deere did put out a statement claiming that the President “did not hear the one statement made on the video.”

Deere added: “What he did see was tremendous enthusiasm from his many supporters.”

The viral video had unexpected consequences in the predominantly Republican community.

Initially, Ed McGinty, a 71-year-old retiree from Philadelphia, was alone fighting against the many Trump supporters in the Orlando retirement village.

However, many retirees have now joined McGinty to fight against the MAGA backers and Trump’s agenda.
