Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga is expected to reveal more details about the “rough” patches of her marriage with Joe Gorga.
Melissa and Joe Gorga have been married for 16 years and share three children together, but in a preview of Wednesday’s episode of the reality TV show, Melissa appears to reveal that things are not always as happy as they seem.
The 41-year-old TV personality has been on the show since 2011, after joining in Season 3.
Speaking to her co-stars on a trip to Lake George, Melissa says that her husband, Joe, “puts the fear of God” into her when she wants to go out with her friends.
She said her husband would make it “so uneasy” for her by threatening to go out with his friends too.
Speaking to fellow housewife Margaret Josephs, who has been on the show since 2017, Melissa Gorga said that Joe becomes “jealous” and “crazy.”
She explained: “He puts the fear of God in [her] when I get out without him. He’s like, ‘Oh, you’re gonna go with your friend?’ . . . ‘K, I’m going to go out too.’ And it makes it so uneasy for me.”
She added: “He gets jealous, and he’s like, ‘Oh, they’re out? F–k them! He goes crazy.”
On another part of the show, fans can expect to hear from Joe Gorga’s sister, Teresa Giudice, who has been on Real Housewives of New Jersey since its inception in 2009.
Teresa and Melissa recall a time when Joe met Teresa and her friends while they were out, and they all ended up at a strip club together.
When Melissa called Joe to ask where he was, he told her he was with his sister but said she should “talk to Teresa” to find out more about what they were doing.
Teresa tells the rest of the housewives that Joe had told her not to give Melissa any details about where they were since she had explicitly asked him not to visit strip clubs. The next episode is set to air on Wednesday.
In a recent interview, she opened up about her marital woes by saying: “Listen, I’m not gonna deny that we went through a rough, like year-and-a-half, and I would say it started right before the pandemic. I feel like as I become more and more independent in certain ways, it really is a struggle for him. I hate that. It shouldn’t be a struggle, and it really is. And we really go through it, and we’re very raw and real and honest with it. So you’re going to have to see how that all unfolds. But it’s very real for us.”
