At the age of 99, Prince Philip remains in the hospital after undergoing heart surgery and is said to be recuperating well.
Nonetheless, many members of the royal family are worried about the Duke of Edinburgh‘s health, who has been in experts’ care since February.
While Queen Elizabeth II has yet to visit her husband in the hospital, a very concerned Prince Charles rushed to be by Prince Philip’s side.
Queen Elizabeth’s oldest son, Charles, Prince of Wales, appeared very emotional as he left King Edward VII’s hospital in central London and traveled back to his home in Gloucestershire.
Sources familiar with the situation explained that Prince Philip requested that his 72-year-old son, who is the heir to the British throne, visit him to have a meaningful conversation.
Queen Elizabeth’s former press secretary, Dickie Arbiter, spoke to the media and shared a few details about the two men’s exchange.
According to the royal expert, the Duke urgently called his son to have a talk about the monarchy’s future.
Appearing on True Royalty TV, Her Majesty’s former staff member made the following revelations about the private tête-à-tête: “I think it was at the request of the Duke that the Prince of Wales visited. To lay the ground. Look, the man is 99. He is in with an infection. My guess is that he will come out, he will walk out, and he will go back to Windsor. But eventually, he is going to die, and he was just saying to Charles, ‘one day you are going to be the leading man of the family.”
Another source explained that at the moment, The Duke of Cornwall is solely focused on his father’s health and is not at all concerned about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
This weekend, a source talked to the Mail on Sunday and explained: “He is a man who feels emotions keenly and is far more concerned about the Duke of Edinburgh than whatever Oprah Winfrey is up to in California.”
Prince Philip, who will celebrate his 100th birthday in June, was initially hospitalized as a precautionary measure after he revealed that he was not feeling well.
Doctors discovered that Prince Philip had an infection and remained in the hospital, and underwent heart surgery.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement giving an update on Prince Philip’s health that read: “The Duke of Edinburgh remains at King Edward VII’s Hospital where he is receiving medical attention for an infection. He is comfortable and responding to treatment but is not expected to leave the hospital for several days.”
Some fans are hoping that after the interview things will calm down for the royal family.
