FKA twigs has shared a series of photographs on Instagram, revealing some impressive yoga poses. The singer and artist also took the opportunity to show off her gorgeous makeover.
The 33-year-old singer-songwriter shared four natural photos on Tuesday, practicing her moves in a dance studio. She captioned the post “practice” and tagged performer Theo TJ Lowe.
FKA twigs — whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett — was seen holding a lunge pose in one of the photos and showing off her fit body and flexibility in another with a twisted seated pose with one leg over her arm.
The British songwriter and dancer, who had her hair in a brownish/orange, flaunted her blonde hairdo. She wore a gray sports bra and black pants for her session, which attracted comments from impressed Instagram followers, including her boyfriend, Matt Healey‘s mother, TV presenter Denise Welch.
The photos showing FKA twigs in her bliss were posted amid abuse allegations against her ex-boyfriend, Shia LaBeouf.
FKA twigs recently filed legal action against her ex-boyfriend, actor Shia LaBeouf, 34, alleging that he had physically assaulted her, and accusing him of sexual battery, and inflicting emotional distress on her during their relationship from August 2018 until May 2019.
In an interview, FKA twigs described speaking out publicly about the abuse as a “big relief,” saying that she had been “holding on to somebody else’s dysfunction” but had given it back to him because “it’s not mine.”
She stated: “I thought to myself, ‘If he shoots me, and then if there is some sort of investigation, they will put the pieces together. I need to leave little clues.”
She also shared these devasted incidents: “I’ve woken up to him strangling me multiple times. I’ve not been able to breathe at his hands. He made me feel like I wasn’t allowed joy, basically. That’s what it boils down to: I wasn’t allowed joy unless it directly revolved around him.”
LaBeouf apologized to the people he caused hurt but denied “each and every allegation.”
The actor also referenced his struggles with PTSD and alcoholism, saying that this had resulted in abuse to himself and others over the years.
However, FKA twigs has described the allegations in some detail, confessing that there was a time her body was “black and blue” after an assault and accusing the actor of gaslighting — including pushing her over and then telling her she had in fact fallen.
She said she believes everybody should be accountable for their actions, which is why it is important for people to speak up about abuse and to be supported.
