Could this be George Clooney‘s birthday present? Well, it is certainly fitting for the actor, his wife, Amal Clooney, and their 3-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella Clooney.
As the legendary actor celebrates his 60th birthday, it has been confirmed that he and his wife, Amal Clooney, are about to splash about $9 million on a large property.
According to the mayor of Brignoles, a small town located in the South of France, George Clooney, and his spouse are interested in purchasing a stunning 425-acre estate known as the Domaine de Canadel.
The mansion, which comes with a large vineyard, an impressive swimming pool, and a tennis court, is close to Angelina Jolie‘ and Brad Pitt‘s Château Miraval in Correns.
Several pictures of the estate, which surfaced online, show that lush greens and olive trees surround it.
Amal Clooney and her husband are said to be facing another buyer in a bidding war to get the mansion. According to the French media, the Hollywood megastar might not get his wish because the local businessman trying to get his hands on the mansion is working overtime to seal the deal.
The news of the potential purchase of the home hit the media as Clooney celebrates his 60th birthday.
Ahead of his birthday, George Clooney did an interview to reveal how he feels about the significant milestone.
Clooney confessed: “As far as turning 60, listen, I’m not thrilled with it, but it’s better than dead. So I’ll take it. I got two options.”
The film director also spoke about how he is raising his twins to be charitable human beings. He explained: “Well, you try [to instill charitable values]. They’re not quite four yet so they don’t [understand]. My kids will always say, they’ll pick up a toy, and they’ll go, ‘This is for the poor people.’ And I go, ‘Good. OK, so let’s put it in the basket and we’ll take it to the poor people.’ And then there’s this shock on their face when reality hits.”
He added: “But I hope so. My parents always taught me that the best things you could do [is] challenge people in power and look out for people who aren’t in power and those kinds of things.”
The Oscar winner then shared how he got his wife to join him at the Motion Picture & Television Fund: “I brought her to an event there. This isn’t necessarily the best time because we’re still dealing with the pandemic. But, when you go to that campus, and you walk around — I shot scenes from a TV series there — and we sat down at a table, and there’s somebody from My Fair Lady, and he started singing ‘I’m Getting Married in the Morning’ and it was just [amazing]. Everything about it is warm and funny.”
The Hollywood icon is all about his family.
