Hilary Brooke Mueller Thornton D’Arreion Toles Apartment Patty St. Louis Missouri

A white woman named Hilary Brooke Mueller, born Hilary Brooke Thornton, dubbed Apartment Patty by many on the Internet, living in St. Louis, Missouri has been fired by Tribeca-STL Management, a luxury property management, after she blocked her black neighbor from entering his building.

D’Arreion Toles, 24, uploaded a video on Facebook Friday night where Mueller can be seen blocking him from accessing the entrance — she stood in the doorway with her dog on a leash.

After the young man was able to enter the building, the woman followed him to the elevator and then to his apartment to make sure that he was really living there.

Mueller kept asking questions, and although he remained calm, Toles ignored all of them. The man filmed the whole incident and has been talking to the media in the past few days.

The viral clip was captioned: “To Be A Black man in America, & Come home,
Women tries to stop me from coming into my building because she feels insecure,
Downtown St. Louis luxury loft, because she don’t feel that I belong, never really thought this would happen to me, but it did! Then 30 mins later police knock on my door, because she called! I was shocked this is America in 2018!”

Toles has asked his followers and supporters not to be negative and to be forgiven towards Mueller. The woman, who split from her husband, Brandon Mueller, over one year ago; finds herself isolated after losing her job.

Her estranged spouse released a statement about the incident, it read: “The individual in the video and I have been separated for over a year, and I myself no longer reside at the Elder Shirt Loft building.”

Her former employee also stated: “The Tribeca-STL family is a minority-owned company that consists of employees and residents from many racial backgrounds. We are proud of this fact and do not and never will stand for racism or racial profiling at our company.”

The term “living while black” has gained a lot of media coverage in the past year.
