Prince Charles’s Fears Of Stepping On Meghan Markle’s Toes Forced Him To Skip This Secret Event With Prince Harry

Prince Harry Charles Meghan Markle Drama Fear

Recently, Prince Harry put on a brave and smiling face as he appeared at a low-key yet important event to pay tribute to his late mother, Princess Diana.

During the trip, Prince Harry and his father, Prince Charles, were set to participate in a “secret summit” to work on their relationship, but it appears that things did not go as planned.

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, accompanied by his older brother, Prince William, unveiled a statue of Princess Diana at Kensington Gardens in London.

Prince William and Prince Harry marked the occasion as they jointly gave a short speech where they stated: “Today, on what would have been our mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength, and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better.”

It was revealed that Prince Charles fled London before the ceremony took place. The heir to the British throne traveled to Scotland while Prince Harry was in England because he was nervous and afraid of his private conversations going back to Meghan Markle and eventually making their way to the media.

According to royal expert Charlotte Griffiths, Charles, Prince of Wales, had planned to have a private and secret summit during a dinner with Prince Harry.

Prince Charles had plans to have heart-to-heart conversations about the truth bombs and accusations that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, dropped during their explosive interviews with Oprah Winfrey.

However, it appears that Prince Charles had a change of heart because there is no mention of the meeting taking place.

Writing for The Mail on Sunday, Griffiths explained: “Charles had planned a one-on-one dinner with Harry during his son’s trip back to Britain earlier this month, when Harry unveiled a statue of his late mother, Diana. I’m told Charles – who was reportedly in Scotland while the ceremony took place at Kensington Palace – intended to travel back to London to thrash things out with Harry, following the fallout from the explosive interview the Duke and wife Meghan gave to Oprah Winfrey.”

She also explained that Prince Charles kept away because he dreaded the sit-down for this reason: “A nervous Charles was said to be ‘dreading’ the dinner – presumably in case he made some faux pas which could be misconstrued and repeated to the Duchess of Sussex back home in California.”

While Prince Harry was not able to start the healing process with his father, it appears that steps in the right direction were taken between the two brothers.

According to royal expert and author of Battle of Brothers: William, Harry and the Inside Story of a Family in Tumult Robert Lacey, the fact that the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex shared the speech instead of each making a separate statement was a very wise move, as it kept them from holding “disastrous rival speeches.”

Lacey opinionated that the joint statement gave hope that the brothers could reconcile in the future and was also a “constructive way of dealing with differences.”

The royal expert explained further that even though Prince William and Prince Harry still seemed at odds with each other, they managed to acknowledge there are more important things than their ongoing disagreement and delighted the public with their appearance.

The brothers are set to meet in September for another event, and Meghan Markle, who has stopped doing interviews, is expected to be present.
