As Prince Harry gets ready to legally challenge the British government over their unwillingness to let him pay for his own security, he finds himself in another potentially humiliating situation where only Queen Elizabeth II can save him.
This week, it was revealed that his decision to step down from his royal duties in early 2020 alongside Meghan Markle has new ramifications that the public was unaware of.
After losing many of his titles, his beloved patronage, and the right to have round-the-clock security for himself and his family, Prince Harry might take another hit.
It appears that the Duke of Sussex might be removed as the Queen‘s Counsellors of State because he no longer resides in England.
Prince Harry holds the prestigious role of Counsellor of State alongside his uncle, Andrew, his father, Prince Charles, and older brother Prince William.
Queen Elizabeth’s late husband, Prince Philip, was also a member of her Counsellors of State.
According to the Mirror, the four members of the royal family who are appointed the Queen’s Counsellors of State are “the next four people in the line of succession who are over the age of 21.”
They have been selected to undertake Queen Elizabeth’s official duties “as Sovereign on a temporary basis due to illness or absence abroad.”
In a lengthy piece published by royal author Daniela Elser, she explained that Prince Harry being axed from the coveted royal post would be the ultimate sign that he will never be going back to his former life as a member of the royal family.
Via the Daily Mail, she cited Prince Harry’s ineligibility because he lives abroad as a reason why he might be dropped.
The royal pundit said: “Being removed, by Parliament no less, as a Counsellor of State would really be the nail in Harry’s coffin of his former life as a frontline member of the Royal Family.”
Only Queen Elizabeth holds power to resolve the matter on behalf of her grandson.
The author added: “If the Queen does take steps to have this situation remedied and Harry is axed, there really is no going back. All of these decisions – the military titles, the HRHs in abeyance – could theoretically be reversed. However, having parliament take formal action to remove them as Counsellors of State is in another league entirely.”
Queen Elizabeth is unlikely to rectify the issue because royal sources have revealed this week that she does not meddle in the government’s affairs.
This implies that if the parliament goes after Prince Harry’s important role, he will be on his own.
It has already been revealed that Queen Elizabeth will not help Prince Harry as he dukes it out in court with the Home Office that has refused to back down over his request demand for police protection when he travels to his homeland with his family.
While Prince Harry is known to never back down from a fight — this former soldier is facing two potentially uphill battles that appear very difficult to win.
Some British citizens say that Prince Harry should not be the Queen’s Counsellors of State because he ditched his royal duties and the disturbing revelations he made about the royals in his infamous interviews.
