Reliable sources have revealed that there is a big possibility that Sofia Vergara will not be single for long. In late July, Sofia Vergara and her husband, Joe Manganiello, announced that they were getting a divorce.
It is now being claimed that The “Top Gun” superstar, 61, is more than ready to risk it all to date the Modern Family actress.
Cruise and Vergara know each other on a romantic level. It was revealed that Will Smith was the one who set Tom Cruise up with Sofia Vergara in February 2005.
The two actors were photographed in 2005 going on a date in the rain. The former model and famous Scientologist were spotted having a cozy dinner and chatting the night away.
After enjoying their meals, Cruise, looking smitten, flashed a huge smile as he escorted Vergara back to her vehicle. For some unknown reason, things did not work out between the pair, and Cruise went on to date and marry Katie Holmes.
According to a source, who spoke to UK’s Heat magazine, as per The Mirror, Tom Cruise and Sofia Vergara hit it off, but it appeared that she was not interested in a long-term romance.
After the split, Cruise and Vergara remained friends. The person stated: “They do have that history already, even if it was more of a brief dalliance than a fully-fledged romance. They had a special time together, partying in the Hollywood Hills and having a blast. Sofia wasn’t really giving out the signals back then that she wanted anything long-term, so it petered out in a totally amicable fashion, and they remained friends.”
The source went on to reveal that it always bothered Cruise that he let Vergara get away. The person said this about Cruise’s regret: “It’s always eaten away at Tom that he dumped Sofia and chose Katie.”
Tom Cruise married Katie Holmes in 2006 and they divorced in 2012. The two have one daughter together, Suri Cruise.

However, Vergara, a devout Catholic, was concerned about converting to Scientology. The author shared: “It soon became clear that she was being auditioned for the biggest role of her life — Mrs. Tom Cruise. It was made clear that if she took the part, she would have to renounce her Catholic faith and convert to Scientology.”
A friend of the actress revealed: “She was fundamentally terrified of Scientology. She sincerely believed that she would be struck down by God and burn in hell if she joined.”
