Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Revealed What Was Inappropriate About The Platinum Jubilee In Private Conversation With Queen Elizabeth

Prince Harry Meghan Markle Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Balcony

Even before scoring invitations from Queen Elizabeth II to attend the Platinum Jubilee, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle laid bare their priorities.

The pair, who left England in early 2020 to start a new life in California, told Her Majesty that their goal was to spend time with her and allow her to bond with her great-grandchildren — Archie and Lilibet Diana.

Prince Harry and his wife, Markle, also explained that they were never interested in standing on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the Trooping of the Colour parade for the iconic family photo.

In a new article, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s close friend and royal author, Omid Scobie, shared the conversation that they had with the Queen before accepting her invitation.

Markle and her husband told Queen Elizabeth it would be inappropriate to be on the balcony. Markle and Prince Harry back the idea that only working royals should make the much-anticipated appearance.

Prince Harry and his spouse also support Prince Charles‘s decision to slim down the monarchy to ensure its future.

When Prince Charles becomes king, he plans to cut down on the number of senior royals and the amount of money that is spent on their living expenses.

Writing for Yahoo, the royal expert said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle told the Queen that instead of being on the famous balcony, they would rather attend the Thanksgiving Service with her.

The church service will take place on Friday, June 3, at St Paul’s Cathedral, and it is not known if Prince William and Kate Middleton will be present or if they will be representing Her Majesty in another country.

The royal journalist shared: “I’m told by a source that the Duke of Sussex had actually expressed some time ago that he and Meghan were very keen to be a part of the Jubilee engagements, including the National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, but less so for the formal balcony moment, which was felt on both sides to be more appropriate for their lives prior to stepping back.”

The bestselling writer confirmed in his article that Queen Elizabeth made the decision to only have members of the royal family currently carrying out royal duties on the balcony as a discreet way to remove her disgraced son, Andrew, from the line-up.

He revealed: “Impatiently waiting for a comeback moment, sources say Prince Andrew was eager to stand by his mother during such a poignant and sympathetic scene.”

The Sussex ally also revealed that there would not be any Nextflix cameras following them around as they interact with the royals and Queen Elizabeth.
