At the age of 96 years old, it has been said that Queen Elizabeth II is as sharp as can be. She is in complete control of the Monarchy and has a say in every decision taken.
Her Majesty, who is putting the finishing touches to the festivities on Her Platinum Jubilee, has taken a brief trip to Scotland to rest and prepare for the celebrations.
Her entire family will be part of the festivities, and while she will be delighted to see everyone come together, she appears to have her heart set on Kate Middleton.
Queen Elizabeth is said to be happy and relieved that she will be watching her Queen in waiting in action, no, not Camilla Parker Bowles.
A royal author has revealed that Queen Elizabeth spent years preparing and nurturing the relationship between Kate Middleton and the heir to the throne, Prince William.
The Sovereign knew that she failed with Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana and therefore put in extra time and efforts to make sure that Middleton and Prince William were ready and had the shoulders to carry the Monarchy.
Princess Diana’s biographer, Andrew Morton, explained that Her Majesty is impressed by the woman that Kate Middleton has been and becoming.
The Duchess of Cambridge won the Queen over by confirming that her love for Prince William is not attached to his celebrity status, wealth or titles.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, the royal expert said: “The thing about Kate is the Queen was impressed she adored and loved William for himself, not for his title. She spends a lot more time supporting and nurturing the relationship between William and Catherine than she did with Charles and Diana. It’s pretty clear she wasn’t going to make that mistake again.”
The royal observer went on to share: “Everything that happened in [Kate and William’s] relationship was quite strategic, quite thought through, after a period of time.”
He went on to make the surprising revelation that not many members of the royal family expected the romance between Prince William and Middleton to last.
Morton stated: “In the beginning, nobody in the royal household expected that the university romance with Catherine and William would continue for any time after they graduated, like most college romances that disintegrate under the intense scrutiny of jobs and geography.”
The royal biographer added that the aging Majesty is “no fool” and knows Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles will just oversee the gap between monarchies before Prince William and Kate Middleton step into their rightful and heavy roles.
The author stated that Her Majesty knows that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge couple “is very much as the future of England and believes Prince Charles (and Camilla Parker Bowles) will simply act an interregnum like King Edward VII before him, with the real burden of monarchy falling on the couple’s shoulders.”
This news will certainly not sit well with Prince Charles’s wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, who will be Queen when he ascends the throne.
Despite Queen Elizabeth’s latest grand gesture and statement that she wants Camilla Parker Bowles to be Queen, it seems that she has a special place in her heart for Middleton.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond confirmed that Her Majesty admires how the Duchess has become a “Queen in waiting.”
The Queen was also said to be “practically skipping” with joy and excitement on the day Prince William wed Kate Middleton.
Morton said: “The Queen was positively playful on the day of her grandson’s nuptials, ‘practically skipping’ according to one observer, absolutely thrilled at the way the public had reacted to the royal newlyweds. She had a sense that the future of the Royal Family, her family, was now secure. The MonarchyMonarchy was once again held in admiration and affection by the masses.”
The Queen will celebrate her 70th year on the throne next weekend with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince William, and the rest of the royals by her side.
