Prince Charles has always wanted a slimmed-down Monarchy, but the universe granted his wish a little earlier than expected.
Not only that, Prince Charles might have inherited what is now being described as a skeletal, dull, or empty Monarchy.
Prince Charle might be under pressure to make a reversal of action on his drastically slimmed-down and more cost-effective royal family and ask Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back to the fold.
During Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee, Prince Harry, Markle, and their children traveled to London to participate in the royal celebrations.
Queen Elizabeth and other senior royals, including Prince William and Prince Charles, agreed on the decision to have Markle and Prince Harry play downgraded or invisible roles.
The Sussex couple, who stepped down from their royal duties, was banned from appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the working seniors.
The activists were not allowed to be photographed with Queen Elizabeth or any other senior member of the royal family.
And they officially became persona non grata during the Thanksgiving Service for Queen Elizabeth, where Prince Charles and Prince William did a choreographed dance to avoid making eye contact with Markle and Prince Harry.
Many say that Prince Harry and his spouse backed themselves into a wall with the royal family over a series of painful interviews after their departure from London.
It is believed that Prince William and Prince Charles are furious over the so-called truth bombs that Markle and Prince Harry dropped about the British Monarchy.
However, according to a royal expert, Prince Charles might have to swallow his biggest pill yet and reach out to his son and daughter-in-law and ask them to return to the UK when his mother gives him the throne.
The royal author and biographer explained that the image that came out of the Queen’s Jubilee screams — underwhelmed.
Royal commentator Tina Brown, author of The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor — the Truth and the Turmoil, said the mounting evidence of the too slimmed-down Monarchy would push Prince Charles to seek Prince Harry’s help to remedy the problem.
During an appearance on Guardian‘s podcast Today in Focus, the writer shared why Prince Charles might have to back down from his plans to exclude the Sussexes from the fold.
Brown stated: “It’s looking a bit skeletal because they weren’t supposed to be losing Andrew or Harry, so a bit of a problem slimmed-down Monarchy at the moment. I think there is excessive pressure on the Cambridges at the moment to be essentially taking up the slack for both Harry and Andrew.”
She added: “And I do think at a certain point they are going to need Harry back, particularly probably after the Queen dies, because he was an asset.”
Meghan Markle’s friend and bestselling author, Omid Scobie, penned a piece via Yahoo explaining the future of the Monarchy without Prince Harry and Markle looks colorless and toned deaf.
He explained: “Speeches from Prince William and Prince Charles during the Platinum Party at the Palace allowed the two heirs to give a taste of what’s to come when they take on new roles in the not-too-distant future, but one couldn’t help but feel a little underwhelmed when looking at the royal landscape without the Queen (and the additional loss of the Gen Z-favoured Sussexes).”
He wrote that Prince William and Prince Charles have not yet understood how to address some of the major issues, including slavery and racism, that have haunted the Monarchy.
The writer shared: “And this is where one of many problems lie ahead for the future of The Firm. While we celebrate the Queen’s golden reign, we are also reminded that the future without her might just, dare I say it, look a little dull. Though her successors are no doubt capable in their royal roles, the institution’s next chapter is yet to feel like it aligns with modern-day society…”
Scobie pointed to the recent catastrophic tours in the Caribean and Canada, where Prince Charles and Prince William were hit by protests by people of color and descendants of slaves.
The heirs to the throne were not prepared to answer the tough questions about Great Britain’s shameful past.
He said: “Recent failed tours of the Caribbean—where demands for the Royal Family to apologize for Britain’s historic role in the enslavement of millions of Africans were largely ignored—show there is still much work to do when it comes to the Firm understanding and connecting with all issues that matter to the world. And unaddressed racism and bullying allegations continue to be front of mind for people of color and young Brits.”
There has been speculation regarding Prince Charles’s vision of a slimmed-down royal family for many years, but the Prince of Wales has never directly commented on his modern vision for the firm.
