After the Platinum Jubilee, Queen Elizabeth II has decided to keep the lavish parties going.
Her Majesty has opted to mark Prince William‘s 40th birthday — an important milestone for the heir to the British throne — with a huge party in the fall of 2022.
The party is actually a joint event — Kate Middleton turned 40 earlier this year but could not celebrate in style because of restrictions still in place because of COVID-19.
Therefore, Queen Elizabeth will have a double celebration for Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Of course, the question on everyone’s mind is, will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle be invited to the festivities?
In early June, Markle, Prince Harry, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, traveled to England for the Queen’s Jubilee and saying that the royals did not welcome them would be an understatement.
Markle and the former soldier were snubbed at Queen Elizabeth’s Thanksgiving church service.
Prince William and Kate Middleton declined an invitation to attend Lilibet’s birthday party.
The future King and Queen of England made no efforts to meet Lilibet; therefore, their three children did not spend time with their cousins.
After the Jubilee, several of Prince William’s close friends sat down with The Daily Mail to reveal that the relationship between the two brothers might be damaged beyond repair at this point.
All of the information above has led royal experts to say that there is a big possibility that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not be returning to the UK for the grand celebration.
One of the reasons is that for once, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle have agreed that a public birthday is not the time or place for a family reunion between relatives who are feuding and are barely talking.
Royal expert Marlene Koenig spoke to Express and explained why Prince Harry and Markle are not expected to be in London for the event: “The party, I think, will be a quiet party, not flashy. You know, family and friends, [and] hopefully an official portrait. I don’t think we need to keep asserting every time there’s [an] event, will Harry and Meghan come.”
The royal commentator added that Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to step down from their royal duties and move to California implies that they will not be rushing to London for every family gathering or big royal event.
She claimed: “The answer is probably going to be no because they made a decision to pick up sticks, and ‘Go West, young man is the expression, and that’s what they did.”
She said this is not a snub on Prince William’s end. Koenig also suggested the Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex have not yet reached a place where they can reconcile and, therefore, will not want to be seen in public together, especially at a party.
She concluded: “I don’t think William and Harry are yet in a place for attending a party [together]. I am sure all of the tabloids and papers are going to say, ‘oh, Harry snubs William,’ things like that, but right now, they are still not in a place where they can have a relationship with either one of them.. inviting Meghan and Harry to a birthday party is also “not the place [for a reunion].”
Some observers say the two brothers may take years to fully reconcile.
