What happened to The Breakfast Club? That is the question a lot of people are asking after co-host Angela Yee said the popular radio show is over. Yee, 46, posted a cryptic message on social media Tuesday night.
The two other co-hosts — Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy — have not addressed the big news. In 2020, the trio was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. This was a big recognition for the syndicated program that launched in 2010.
Yee’s surprising message read, “The breakfast club as you know it is officially over.” She did not say more about the future of the radio show, but about fifteen minutes before the viral message, she wrote, “GOD is good!”
The popular morning show, which welcomes politicians and entertainers, and people in between, has over 8 million listeners monthly via 100 radio stations.

Some commenters are speculating that only Angela Yee is leaving The Breakfast Club, and the other co-hosts will remain. This is definitely a possibility because, during an interview, she said that her contract had ended in December 2021.
The hip-hop radio show has dominated the genre for a very long time. It has also served many iconic moments that people will have a hard time forgetting.
When Cash Money founder Birdman wanted some “respek” in 2016, that is where he went. During an interview, Lil Wayne‘s mentor said: “I hear you, my nigga. Y’all finished, or is y’all done? I ain’t got no mo’ talking.”
He later revealed that his real target that day was Charlamagne Tha God. The video of this exchange was viewed millions of times. Appearances by Soulja Boy and 6ix9ine also created a lot of buzz.
In May 2020, in the heat of a presidential election campaign, then-candidate Joe Biden got in a lot of trouble for saying: “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” Mr. Biden quickly apologized.
Moments like these have turned the three personalities into real stars. Moreover, Charlamagne Tha God became a top brand in the media.
Describing their rise, he said: “One day, people will look back and give us respect for how we impacted the culture the past decade. I know it’s hard to show love when folks are still active; I get it, I get it. I’m sure when we get a documentary or something, the flowers will come but In the meantime.”
He continued: “All Praises and Glory Due To God and sincere Thanks and Gratitude to everyone who listens to us on the radio, via podcast, YouTube, however, you consume your breakfast, THANK YOU for being a part of our club.”
He concluded: “Also, this is just a reminder that there really are Jay Z bars for every situation in life. Let’s sing along……..I’m in the HALL already, on the wall already, I’m a work of art, I’m a Warhol already. On another level, on another plane already, Breakfast Club, we got our own lane already.”
The Breakfast Club has over 5.15 million subscribers on YouTube.
