Kate Middleton is fighting a big health issue and is still thinking about the best interests of her three children and the monarchy.
In mid-June, the British people will gather for the grandiose event, Trooping the Colour, a celebration of King Charles III‘s birthday and the most significant event in the royal calendar.
There will be pageantry, a massive parade put together by the military, and the grand finale — all the working members of the Royal Family appearing at Buckingham Palace during the impressive flyover.
This year, the balcony looked like it would be empty because of the absences of Kate Middleton and her children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 6.
Princess Kate, fighting cancer, is undergoing preventive chemotherapy and has withdrawn from public duties.
Sources hinted that because Middleton would not be attending the celebration, her children, who are pretty young, would not be present.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said: “I am sure that William will attend as Colonel of the Welsh Guards. Obviously, Catherine is unlikely to do so because of her health, and it may well be that their children will miss this year’s Birthday Parade.”
Despite her absence, Middleton, driven by her sense of duty, has devised a plan to ensure the public is not disappointed and her children’s hearts are not broken.
Marlene Koenig, the author of Royal Musings, spoke to The Daily Express and explained that in the event of Kate Middleton’s absence, King Charles would most likely make his grand entrance, possibly accompanied by Queen Camilla and his three grandchildren in a carriage.
It is the perfect opportunity for the Wales children to join in the festivities safely and comfortably and delight millions of spectators while at it.
Koenig said: “I have this lovely little feeling that, perhaps, the carriage will include the king and queen and the three grandchildren.”
She went on to share: “Normally, it was mom and Camilla and the three children, but since Catherine is most unlikely to be at Trooping, they will be with their grandparents, which would be really cute and sweet. If they’re not there, people would be really disappointed.”
Middleton’s decision to have her children partake in the event will remind the world how devoted she is to the future of the monarchy.
For a brief moment, it was speculated that King Charles, who is also battling cancer, could not attend the event because the summer heat complicates his health issues.
His doctors advised him not to ride a horse at Trooping the Colour because he recently underwent prostate surgery. King Charles made some minor modifications to be able to attend his big and beautiful birthday parade.
Koenig said of the decision-making: “Everything is on a day-to-day basis, which makes perfect sense, considering he is recovering from cancer.”
Middleton is not expected to return to public life before 2025.
