Tom Brady and his wife, Gisele Bündchen, are the ideal couple for many people in the entertainment industry. However, football is a jealous mistress and has created a sizable gap in the relationship.
For weeks now, media reports have suggested that after Brady chose to continue his football career in March, the iconic supermodel got really angry and now wants a divorce.
Moreover, the legendary athlete has not shown, at least publicly, an extraordinary will to fight for the marriage. New reports reveal why Brady is behaving this way.
Bündchen gave the NFL sensation an ultimatum. She told her husband that it is time to choose his family over football.
Interestingly, the businesswoman feels that what she is doing is not selfish; Bündchen is fighting for her family with all that she has.
With this revelation, it means there is some hope that Brady could still save his marriage. The choice is totally his.
However, it is not a simple equation. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback lives and breathes football.
He wrote on Twitter in March: “These past two months, I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG.”
This decision has been the source of a lot of problems in the marriage. An insider told Us Weekly: “Gisele told Tom either he leaves football to spend time with the family, or she is gone for good. She doesn’t want him to continue to get injured and not be able to enjoy life in the future. She is doing it for her family.”

The 45-year-old sports icon has been married to Bündchen, 42, since 2009. They have two children together — one son, Benjamin, 12, and a daughter, Vivian, 9.
Brady also has a son with actress Bridget Moynahan. Jack is 15.
Bündchen told the October issue of Elle that she did her part. She explained: “Obviously, I have my concerns — this is a very violent sport, and I have my children, and I would like him to be more present. I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.”
She continued: “I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [Tom]. I moved to Boston [when he played for the Patriots], and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams. … Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing him succeed and being fulfilled in his career — it makes me happy. At this point in my life, I feel like I’ve done a good job on that.”
Brady and Bündchen were spotted on different occasions without their wedding rings. They have also been living separately, according to various reports.
Additionally, they have been busy hiring top lawyers for an epic court fight. Some commenters say Brady should be allowed to pursue his dreams.
Others argue that if he made promises to his wife, he should do everything in his power to keep them. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not having the best season so far.
However, things could change quickly, just like for Brady’s situation in his marriage to Bündchen.
