Prince Harry is leaving no stone unturned; he wants to make the most noise possible with his tell-all memoir and Netflix docuseries.
Critics of The Duke of Sussex might be inclined to say that he is trying to do the maximum damage possible in a short amount of time.
King Charles III is watching things unfold with a lot of interest. However, besides removing some symbolic titles here and there, the King is not in a position to do much.
According to the latest reports, the renegade royal is trying to delay the premiere of the docuseries he filmed with his wife. Many assumed that Meghan Markle‘s husband would make some edits to spare the Royal Family from more embarrassment.
However, that assessment was wrong. The climate change activist wants the book Spare and the Netflix documentary to be out at the same time.
The book is already a big hit, so the renegade royal might be trying to capitalize on that wave for the docuseries. Moreover, he will be on a promotional tour for the book, so it would make sense to promote the two projects at the same time.
However, some sources in the industry are convinced that the Sussexes are a little bit scared to go all the way in their feud against the Royal family.
A source told Page Six: “Harry and Meghan are panicked about trying to tone down even the most basic language. But it’s their story, from their own mouths,’ one Netflix source told the website last month.”
A second insider added: “They’ve made significant requests to walk back content they themselves have provided.”
The change of heart reportedly came after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September.
The narrative about Prince Harry panicking about his next move might be just wishful thinking on the part of those who support the monarchy.
In the past few weeks, the renegade royal has only shown his determination to see these things through.
Moreover, if there was some form of detente between the two sides, King Charles would not have to continue punishing the couple.
The Sussexes know it better than anyone; there is no turning back. They are all in, selling their projects. King Charles has to protect the monarchy. The power couple has to make a lot of money to maintain their fancy lifestyle.
The two prerogatives do not align, and nothing indicates that Prince Harry will be the one blinking in the next few months.
The only real silver lining with the potential new delay for the documentary, the Royal Family might be able to enjoy a Christmas without facing questions about Prince Harry.
