As heartbreaking as it might be, King Charles III has decided to be a transition Sovereign holding on to the throne for his son, Prince William.
On September 8, Queen Elizabeth II passed away, and her oldest son became the new Monarch.
At the age of 74, King Charles is in the history books as the oldest heir to the British royal family.
King Charles is a realist and is fully aware that he will not be on the throne for as long as his mother. Queen Elizabeth reigned for more than 70 years.
According to a royal expert, His Majesty has therefore decided to “carry out his duty to ensure the throne is there for future generations.”
In an interview, royal historian Marlene Koenig revealed that King Charles acknowledged that he is the caretaker of the monarchy for the next generation, including Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince George.
In his first speech as King, he stated: “Queen Elizabeth’s was a life well lived, a promise with destiny kept, and she is mourned most deeply in her passing. That promise of life-long service I renew to you all today.”
Charles III continued by emotionally pledging himself, “throughout the remaining time, God grants me to uphold the constitutional principles at the heart of our nation.”
Marlene Koenig, a royal historian with a focus on British and European royalty, said via Yahoo and Insider: “He knows that his time is shorter. But he’s going to do the best that he can. He is, and he knows he is a caretaker for the next generation.”
King Charles has Prince William working with him on his agenda to slim down the monarchy, be more inclusive and expand the Royal Family’s multi-billion dollar empire.
He has given Prince William and Middleton more important roles to prepare them for the tasks ahead.
She added: “It’d help to prepare them (Kate and William) for taking over.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have stepped down from their royal duties and infuriated the royals with their revelations, have no role in the institution.
It seems that King Charles will go as far as denying their children, Archie and Lilibet Diana, their titles of prince and princess.
Dr. Bob Morris, who is part of the UCL’s Constitution Unit, confirmed that all monarchs act as placeholders for their heirs, and King Charles is fully aware of the job he signed up for.
He said: “Somebody’s going to replace them. There’s nothing more certain than that.”
King Charles is sticking to his plans.
