While King Charles III is doing his best to figure out what kind of Monarch he will be, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are marching on with business as usual.
Until early September, Prince Harry and Markle’s threats to decimate the British institution for its past crimes was Queen Elizabeth‘s problem.
Upon her passing, King Charles inherited the kingdom, the billions of pounds, and the headaches known as Prince Harry and Markle.
Months into his reign, King Charles had yet to figure out what kind of leader he is and that makes him look soft and weak, according to some royal observers.
King Charles wants to be the neutral, loving, and forgiving father while portraying the image of a ruthless sovereign all at once, and it is not working.
This lack of leadership on King Charles’s behalf was dissected by Editor At Large at Mail on Sunday Charlotte Griffiths, who told LBC via Express: “I think this is going to be his [the King’s] first real test, and he’s going to have to get quite serious because he’s really soft when it comes to the boys. He’s a loving father.”
Griffiths added: “But I think this is the first major thing that’s happened since Charles became King, and now he’s going to have to do that thing that we all know the Queen had to do many times in her reign – it is to choose between being a monarch and a father.”
The royal expert went on to say that King Charles has to understand that he is no longer the heir. He cannot lead from behind and has to boldly deliver a royal response.
King Charles has to stop depending on Prince William to handle Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to shed an unforgiving light on the British monarchy.
Griffiths added: “But I think this is the first major thing that’s happened since Charles became King, and now he’s going to have to do that thing that we all know the Queen had to do many times in her reign – it is to choose between being a monarch and a father.”
Prince Harry and Markle have identified King Charles’s soft spot, and they are taking full advantage of it.
Last night, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were presented a prestigious award by the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights Foundation for their fight against racism.
Taking to the stage, the power couple challenged King Charles and the monarchy by vowing to keep on the fight and to get into some more good trouble.
Markle and Prince Harry told the audience that this was just the “beginning” of “sweeping down walls of oppression.”
The activist and former actress said: “As we all face a complete and challenging time in the world, we choose the path of optimism of care for each other and our communities. We understand this honor is not about the culmination of a life’s work, but instead, and in many ways for us, a beginning.”
King Charles’s performance as Monarch will be further challenged when Prince Harry and Markle drop the six episodes of Harry & Meghan on Netflix this week.
The pair will use the docuseries to outline their painful experiences within the Palace walls. In their long list of grievances, there is racism, lack of mental help, and the collusion between the royals and the tabloids to leak humiliating stories.
Prince Harry will publish his book Spare in January — and he will bring down the hammer on his father and the monarchy.
All eyes are on the King. Will he remain neutral or finally step forward and take control of this family conflict?
