King Charles Refuses To Bend The Rules For Prince Harry And Meghan Markle After Losing Legal Battle

King Charles Prince Harry Meghan Markle Hope For Peace

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced in early 2020 that they had stepped down from their duties, Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III decided that the pair would no longer have police protection.

Prince Harry and his family moved to Canada and later to California thanks to the help of billionaire media mogul Tyler Perry.

Perry provided Markle and Prince Harry with the proper security until they could afford it. Prince Harry has an army of bodyguards who protect him and his family while in California.

They also accompany the Sussexes when they travel. However, when Prince Harry visits London, his security team is not allowed to carry weapons or access important information such as threats against him or his family.

Prince Harry has sued the British government’s Home Office so he can be authorized to pay the Metropolitan Police for security protection.

In the High Court, Prince Harry’s team of lawyers explained he is the son of the King, a former soldier, and fourth in line for the throne — and is not a random rich person.

However, this week, the highest court in London ruled against Prince Harry. A lawyer for the government slammed the Duke of Sussex as another rich person trying to buy what money cannot buy.

The attorney argued in court it was not appropriate to allow hiring “police officers as private bodyguards for the wealthy.”

Royal experts and watchers weighed in on the court’s decision to say that it will further complicate the already damaged relationship between King Charles and Prince Harry, Archie, and Lilibet.

If the King wanted, he could have intervened and provided his son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren with the necessary protection they needed so they could feel safe — which would motivate them to travel to London more often.

However, one royal expert told Fox News that King Charles would not lift a finger for Prince Harry. If Prince William and Kate Middleton needed help with their protection — His Majesty would not buck the system for them, according to Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di For Daily podcast.

Schofield explained that King Charles would only go above and beyond for the love of his life, Queen Camilla.

She shared: “They know that the King is very unlikely to lift a finger for them at this point. He has a soft spot for Harry but knows that if Harry is home for an official visit associated with his family … he will be protected. Harry and Meghan rarely visit the U.K. as is. I don’t think that will change unless something changes in their relationship.”

The King author Christopher Andersen added King Charles “really considers himself above such mundane considerations as who does or doesn’t get protection.”

The royal author explained: “That decision is made by something called the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures. Of course, even before he became King, Charles moved heaven and earth to provide Camilla with royal protection. But, other than his queen, I don’t think there’s anyone else he would buck the system for — not even for William and Kate, and certainly not for non-working royals like Harry and Meghan.”

Royal commentator Shannon Felton Spence chimed in to say that King Charles’s eviction of Prince Harry and Markle from Frogmore Cottage and the court’s ruling imply the family will not be visiting London soon or often.

Spence said: “Harry has already made it clear that he doesn’t feel safe in the U.K. and is building his life in California. Between the court’s decision this morning and their move out of Frogmore Cottage, I don’t think we should expect to see the Sussex family in the U.K. again for a very long while.”

The detente is still far.
